Colour Run

To finish off the first half of this term Mrs Young organised a Colour Run!

Dustacco Engineering kindly sponsored our event and our Parent Council volunteers set up a wee refreshment stall for those watching the run on the day! Straw Bails were kindly donated by Gibbs of Galston and the Flaws family!

We need to give a big shout to all of the volunteers who helped set up before the event and helped during it – throwing powder and splashing the children with super soakers and to Summer who continuously ran the course with all of the classes!

Big thanks to all of the family and friends of our pupils who sponsored them to take part, we raised a whopping £1875 for school funds!

The children had an absolute blast!  They certainly went home from school a different colour to what they came!

Click the video link below to see some of the fun and the memories made on the day!  Thank you to our new resident photographer Mrs Clarke for the great action shots!

School Meal Crunch

School Meal Crunch Deal – beating the crunch with a school lunch

The Council is reducing the cost of a school meal for P6 and P7 pupils, who pay for their school meal, to £1.08. This special deal will run from August 2023 to June 2024. The same menu options will be available and our school meals will be freshly prepared each day, using quality ingredients from local suppliers.

End of Term

As we rapidly approach the summer holidays,   I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for working in partnership with is over the course of the year.

On behalf of everyone at Newmilns Primary and ECC I would like to wish our current P7 children well as they finish here and get ready to take the next step to S1.

I would also like to give a shout out to Kim, Claire and Mr Daly who have been working in our Learning Lab this year.  I would like to thank them for their hard work and wish them well as they move onto their new schools.

I look forward to welcoming our new P1 and returning children back to school on Monday 21st August.

More information will follow about the new term in due course.  PE timetables, holiday dates etc will be added to the blog on the inservice days.  Please remember children should have shorts and indoor shoes for PE, these can be left in a bag on pegs if you wish.  No jewellery, including earrings are allowed to be worn at PE.

There are no changes to school uniform, but please remember to put names on everything Children should bring a school back to school each day and a refillable water bottle.   If children wish, they can bring a pencil case, but this is not essential.   Please note that we operate a no “football colour” policy when it comes to these items as well as wearing football tops.

So, until the new session starts, take care and have lots of summer fun!
