This week in the ECC the children have continued to explore in our farm shop, creating price lists for all the items, exploring coins to buy the items and amount to the numeral. The children then transferred the items they bought in the farm shop to the home corner and cooked the items in the home corner like it was their own home. The children were able to use their imaginative skills throughout and applying their real life experiences to their play.

O u t d o o r s –

This week in the outdoor area the children in exploring bugs, using books and ICT to fact find around bugs/insects, specially ones we find in our garden. The children supported staff to revamp our bug house and collected natural materials from our garden to enhance the structure of our bug house. The children used resources such as magnifying glasses and binoculars to search and investigate insects and bugs within the environment.

Thanks to everyone who attended the fire pit experience today. This experience provided the children with an opportunity to build upon their safety skills and enabling them to understand the safety rules whilst being at a fire. It was also a great socialising experience for the children and their parents/carers and the children were also able to reflect on their experience at the woods.
