Your task today is to complete a black line drawing. You will need a blank piece of paper – you can use your jotter for this and your black writing pen. I would like you to draw everything that you have learnt about fractions. Look back at all your great work as a reminder.
Here is a few tips to get you started.
- What is a fraction?
- How do we show a fraction? In shapes? Numbers? Number line?
- What are the special names of numbers in a fraction?
- Can you show 1/2, 1/4, 1/10
- Can you fold shapes or food into equal parts?
- What do you divide by to find 1/2, 1/4 or 1/10

Yesterday we began to talk about multiplying and we talked about repeated addition. For example if we have 5 pairs of shoes, it looks like 2+2+2+2+2=10
This can also be said as 5 groups of 2
Your task is to count out groups of a number. e.g. 5 groups of 2 looks like what? Can you count in 2’s to find the answer? The answer is 10.
