To all the children that will be moving up into Primary 1 after the summer, all that staff here are super proud of you all!!!

We unfortunately never got the chance to finish this last part of your learning journey within the ECC so we have put together a special video for the children and their families that we hope you will enjoy.

We will miss you all as you take this next step but know that you will all do great โค๏ธ

Home Learning

Hello everyone…..

As the end of term is drawing close, ย please ensure to keep checking on the ECC and PS Glow blogs for information.ย  We understand this may be an anxious time for many families and that you may have lots of questions. Please know that once we have all relevant information regarding the return in August we will be in touch.

Parent Club is a great resource to keep up to date on information and there is a dedicated FAQ page.

https://www.parentclub.scot/

Going forward until end of month we have made up some activity ideas to keep the children learning at home.

Egg and Spoon race ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฅ„

Good morning ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ

For todayโ€™s sporting challenge it is the Egg & Spoon race.

You will need to set up a finish line and the aim is to get to the finish line as fast as you can without dropping the object on the spoon. Now this can be an egg (perhaps your grown up could hard boil it first ๐Ÿ˜) or you could use a potato, a small ball..whatever you can find to put on the spoon.

Hope you all have fun with todayโ€™s challenge. Donโ€™t forget to do your warm up that Michelle posted on Mondays blog.

Let me know how you get on.

๐Ÿ“šCosy Story-All Groupsโค๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Good Morning Everyone ๐Ÿค—

It’s not a very pleasant day out there today after all that lovely sunshine.ย  โ˜”โ˜”

Today why not choose your favourite story book , find a comfy place , get cosy and cuddle up with your big people to read a story.ย  ย Talk about your favourite characters in the story and what happens throughout.ย  Did anything silly happen ?ย  Were any characters a little cheeky?

I miss reading you all stories at nursery and look forward toย  being able to again soon.

One of my favourite stories to read is Room on the Broom .

Have a lovely day.

Information for Parents/Carers who have pupils going into Primary 1

I hope you and your family are well. Thank you for your ongoing support and all your efforts in encouraging your child to do their work at home.

We know that you will be keen to have more information regarding the way ahead, we will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible, this is particularly of interest to our Parents/Carers whose children are coming into Primary 1 or our ECC.

I am sure that you are following the First Ministerโ€™s daily information sessions and updates on the East Ayrshire website, which will keep you abreast of any developments.

ย Be assured, a member of staff will contact all P1 parents individually via the telephone prior to the end of term to discuss plans for August.ย  We will also create anย  online P1 induction film for your information regarding P1.

From 1st June applications will be accepted for the Best Start Grant – School Age Payment, worth ยฃ250 to eligible families for children about to start school in Primary 1 to help with the costs of a child starting school. This money can be used for anything that families may need at this key stage in a childโ€™s life.

You do not need to take up a place in school after the summer to get this payment but any parent who has deferred entry until August 2021 should also make the application NOW if their childโ€™s birthday falls between 1 March 2015 and 29 February 2016.

When to apply for School Age Payment depends on when your child was born, not when they start school so any parent who defers their childโ€™s entry to school to next year may miss out if they donโ€™t apply now. Applications will open on 1 June 2020 until 28 February 2021 for children who were born between 1 March 2015 and 29 February 2016.

To apply, the parent/guardian needs to call a Freephone number 0800 182 2222 and leave their details. They will then receive a call back to make the application

Number hunt 1๏ธโƒฃ5๏ธโƒฃ๐Ÿ”Ÿ

Good morning โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™

For today we ask that you perhaps go a short or long walk and see what numbers you can find?! Remember to take a pen/paper with you so you can write down the numbers you see or your grown up can keep a note in their phone.
Here is an idea of items you may find numbers on..

Let me know how you get on.
