Creative task.

Can you set up a fairy garden?
You could use leaves, sticks and stones. Make sure and collect what you think you may need and ask your grown up where you could set this up? If it is inside you could use an old shoe box, some paper or a old tube.
Do you have a mini princess or a Lego super hero that would like to play in your fairy house?

Have fun and be creative 🎨

Tuesday 31st March

Good Morning!!

Thank you for sending in your pictures we love seeing them.

For today’s daily task – it is a maths one.

Measure the height of the kitchen worktop using a pen/pencil.  How many pens/pencils high is it?

Why don’t you now try guessing the length of other items in the house like your bed, tv unit etc.

Let me know how you get on?

We all love Bookbug within the ECC – unfortunately we never got to have the Easter Bookbug that was planned.  If you would like to have your own bookbug session at home The Scottish Book Trust has made one available online ‘The Big Giggle’.  Access the Scottish Book Trust site, there are lots of songs and rhymes.

I hope you enjoy your activities today.

Monday 30th March

Good morning 😃

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Today’s daily task is to learn Row, row, row your boat 🚣‍♂️

This is a fun, active nursery rhyme.  Sit with your child on the floor and pretend you are rowing, or make a boat with pillows, cardboard box etc.  What else might you see from a boat?

Row row row your boat

Remember and send in pictures!!

Have a good day everyone!

Friday 27th March 2020

Good morning to everyone 😊

Well we have come to the end of the first week and would like to say well done! We have loved all the feedback and pictures of the children.

We understand that these are very uncertain times and that everyone has been adjusting this week. We would like to thank all our families for engaging in our home learning and do realise that these tasks can be difficult in a busy home, and to remind you all that you are doing a fantastic job!

Going forward from Monday each day a different member of staff will put up a daily task for the whole of the ECC to partake in, these will cover Literacy, Numeracy, Health & Wellbeing etc.  Some days there will also be additional tasks to cover our SHANARRI indicators like our Active Andy.

If you would like individual tasks set for your child to aid in developing their individual targets then please contact their keyworker.

Friday’s Daily Task

For today I have attached a link to A Nurse Dotty Book – this book tells the story of Dave the Dog that is worried about the Coronavirus.  Your little ones might not quite understand that they cannot go out to the park to play or to see their friends and family so hopefully this might help.

Red Group

Good afternoon Reds,

Hope you are all enjoying doing these fun activities at home.

A game we love to play in the ECC is I Spy.  Can you collect some items like;

  • sock
  • apple
  • toothbrush
  • pencil
  • ball

You could have 4 or 5 items and see if your wee one can guess what item it is by saying the initial sound for example “Can you see something that begins with a?”  And use the letter how it sounds in the word.

or

Play it with colour and have them tell you what is – red.

or

Who do you know who’s name starts with for example; m for mum – again try and use the sound of the letter as it is in word.

This helps to encourage listening and also identifying initial letter in words.  If your child can see the objects this helps them with this game.

Have fun and keep sending me your pictures.
