In addition, Social Stories have been created to support children’s understanding of various aspects of coping with coronavirus. You may choose to alter them slightly to best suit each child. You may find it helpful to revisit a story more than once, though they are usually most effective when everyone is feeling calm and relaxed.

Over the past couple of months a pan-Ayrshire working group was developed to help devise transition support materials for children with additional support needs. The group consisted of CAMHS, Rainbow House Psychologists, Educational Psychologists from all three Ayrshires, Speech and Language Therapy and representation from an Autism Support Service. The parent and child support materials are now ready and are linked below. We hope these materials can offer some support going forward into the new term.
