Halloween Art

Last week we created some spooky Halloween settings which are making great scary decorations for our Halloween week. Here are some examples of our excellent work, well done for all of your hard work everyone 👏🏼

Halloween Homework

Good morning,

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend!! This weeks homework is a Halloween challenge, I have uploaded the file to our class team so please go to our Teams page to see the outline of the task.

If you have any issues please contact me via my email: eakathleen.mcgrane@glow.sch.uk

Have a wonderful week!

Homework – 19th October

Good morning – I hope you have all enjoyed the October holidays.

This week we have spelling, grammar, reading and math homework.

Spelling this week is a consolidation week – I have uploaded all of our weekly words onto our teams channel so please access these under the ‘file’ tab. I would like all children to practise their words to ensure they know all of their words so far. There will be no official spelling test this week as this is a chance for children to revise their previous learning.

Our maths homework this week is a worksheet to be complete in their homework jotters – if children complete their worksheet within half an hour the remainder of the time should be spent completing a Sumdog subtraction task.

For reading this week children have been issued new library books. Each book is of a different size – some children will read their full book, others should read 2/3 chapters of their book. Pick an event or character from your book and draw a picture of your visualisation.

Grammar – write three sentences about your holidays or something you are looking forward to doing over the next couple of weeks. In each sentence underline the nouns.

Challenge: can you specify if your noun in a common noun or a proper noun?

Reminder: children have been issued homework jotters therefore their maths and spelling should be complete in their jotters.

Have a lovely week!!

Winter Art

The dark, cold, wintery mornings inspired out art for today’s lesson. We were learning how to create tones using the same materials by applying and removing pressure. I am so proud of how hard everyone worked – they all turned out beautiful 👏🏼

Good morning,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready for a fresh week.

The homework for the week this week is for all children to practise their spelling words for their spelling test on Friday. The words for the week this week are:

Additionally, this week all children have been encouraged to look for all of the representations of their sound of the week in a contextualised environment – for example the supermarket, on a road sign etc. Write any places and examples of words in homework jotters.

Sounds – all representations of ‘f’  – Genius Gems

  • ‘o_e, i_e and e_e’ – Whiz Kids
  • ‘igh’ – Clever Cookies

Our maths homework this week is a worksheet to be complete in their homework jotters – if children complete their worksheet within half an hour the remainder of the time should be spent completing a Sumdog subtraction task.

For reading this week children have been issued new library books. Each book is of a different size – some children will read their full book, others should read 2/3 chapters of their book. Re-write one of the main events of the story in your own words.

Children have been issued homework jotters therefore their maths and spelling should be complete in their jotters.

Have a lovely week!!

Math Week

For math week we had an exciting lesson on budgeting – differentiating between wants and needs.

I was so impressed with how sensible everyone was with their money and how seriously this task was taken (we have a lot of savers in our class 😆)

Here are some pictures of our task…

Happy Friday

Happy Friday,

I hope you have all had a great week 🙌🏼
We always make time on a Friday to reflect on our week and to set targets for the following week. Today we posted our evaluations on our personal blogs… Here are some pictures of our morning task ☺️

Have a wonderful weekend everyone 🙌🏼😄
