Unfortunately an increase in traffic around school at drop off and pick up times does not follow the School Streets plan.
This is just a reminder for parents and carers, when the restricted times are:
Drop off times – 8.30am till 9.30am. Pick up times 2.30pm till 3.30pm.
Please follow the School Streets plan, to allow for safer roads around our School and ECC.
Thank you for keeping our children safe .
We’ve enjoyed a wonderful first day of Term 1 at Catrine PS. Our Primary 2 to Primary 7 pupils settled quickly into their new classes. A warm welcome to Miss Norman, our P3/4 teacher.
We all enjoyed being together again in the dinnerhall at lunch time and it was a pleasure to see our pupils all looking so smart in their uniforms (please remember to label your child’s jumpers and jackets as we have items in the Lost Property Box already!)
As for our new Primary 1 pupils – they were all wee superstars! They have worked their socks off today for Mrs Cook and Mrs Ferguson – well done to them all. P1 pupils in from 9.30am to 2.30pm on Friday, then from 9.00-3.00pm from Monday 22nd August.
At the end of the school day can parents/carers of Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils step forward to the gate to collect their child as we don’t like letting pupils cross the road. Thanks for your support with this.
Looking forward to a busy, creative and enjoyable first term.
All staff are really looking forward to welcoming our pupils back to Catrine Primary School.
P2 – P7 pupils will be in school from 9.00am- 3.00pm. Please remember to order your child’s lunch via parentpay tonight.
Our new Primary 1 pupils should arrive tomorrow from 9.15am, with loads of photo opportunities before they enter into the school.
New Primary 1 pupils taking a school dinner, will be asked for their lunch choices in the morning.
Primary 1 pupils to be collected at 2.30pm.
Just a wee note to say thank you to all the parents, carers, family and friends of our Catrine PS pupils for your support during this last unusual year! Click on the link below for a wee reminder of some of the great events that our pupils have been involved in this year.
Thank you to all of the staff at Catrine PS and ECC- Cleaners, Janitor, Kitchen Staff, Clerical, Classroom Assistants, Practitioners & Teachers – for their commitment, professionalism and nurturing care for our pupils

Have a great summer, good luck to our P7 Leavers and we’ll see you all on Thursday 18th August. Take care. Mrs Govans
Our Whiteflat pupils enjoyed a brilliant House Reward Party at the Games Hall this afternoon. Accompanied by Mrs Ferguson, Mrs Watt, Mrs Goudie and Miss Brown our pupils had fun on the bouncy castle, inflatable slide, earth ball, football station and arts and craft activities.
Whiteflat achieved the most house points this session due to their lovely manners, hard working attitudes, helpfulness and kindness and the best lines. Well done to Captain Sophie for leading such a great team!
Special thanks to the Games Hall Crew – Tommy, Karen and Leeanne – for making our winners party such a success!
It was lovely welcoming our P7 family and friends to our Prizegiving this morning, and great to be able to celebrate another successful year at Catrine PS.
Please click on the links below to see the lists of Class Prize Winners and Individual Prize Winners.
Ayrbank won the Sports Trophy and Whiteflat were the Winning House, so all Whiteflat pupils will be invited to a House Reward Party on the afternoon of Monday 27th June at the Games Hall – details to follow.
What a brilliant Sports Day we had this morning in the glorious sunshine!
Thanks to everyone who came along to support our wee superstars, and a special thanks to all family and friends who participated in our Parents Races.
Huge thanks to Robert MacKenzie for setting up Riverside Park for us, and to Catrine Amateurs Football Club for donating bottles of water for every pupil. Also to Karen, Ashley and Skye for being our line judges – not an easy job!
All of our pupils represented their classes and houses very well, and we’ll find out who our Sports Champions and Sports House Trophy winners are at Prizegiving on Thursday. Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Mrs Govans

We are looking forward to seeing the new S1s next week and hope they are excited about their visit!
During the induction days teaching staff and senior pupils will be on hand to ensure that they are supervised and supported at all times.
They will need to bring with them next week:
A schoolbag and stationery
A note of their new PLP and practical class (eg. 1A1- 1P3)
Their username and password for logging on to the computers, this is the same one used in the primary school
A pair of trainers for P.E.
A snack for interval
A free school lunch will be available, although you may wish to bring your own packed lunch.
Our school cafeteria has kindly agreed to provide a free school meal for any pupil who would like to sample what’s on offer, although you may wish to bring your own packed lunch. Please note that our new S1 will have a designated area to eat lunch as a year group and will not be allowed to leave this area at interval or lunch during their two day visit.

Due to the horrible weather, today’s Sports Day is CANCELLED.
We’re now having our school Sports Day on Monday 20th June at 10.30am at Riverside Park. Fingers crossed for a dry day!!
Thanks, Mrs Govans
We are still planning to go ahead with our Sports Day tomorrow at 10.30am at Riverside Park. However, the weather forecast is looking a bit dodgy so a final decision will be made TOMORROW AT 9.00AM. We will notify you via GLOW and APP if we are going for it or having to cancel our Sports Day due to wet weather.
If we have to cancel our Sports Day tomorrow, our reserve day is Monday 20th June at 10.30am at Riverside Park.
Fingers crossed for a dry day – we’re all organised but can’t control the weather!
Huge thanks to Talbot superstar, and former Catrine PS pupil, Craig McCracken for visiting the school and ECC today with the Scottish Junior Cup. Our pupils were delighted to pose for photos with the impressive silverware and had loads of questions for Craig.
Auchinleck lassies Mrs Ferguson and Mrs Watt were first in to get their hands on the trophy!
Thanks again, Craig – and well done on another victory!!
What a fantastic day we have had celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee!
We had our very own live band playing this morning while we were busy decorating placemats. A big thank you to members of the Sanquhar Silver band and friends for keeping us entertained. The ECC joined us in marching round the playground to show off our majestic crowns and to give some very royal waves. We then finished by standing and listening to the band play the National Anthem.
Our street party lunch was so much fun! We showed off our dance moves and ate delicious party food. A big thank you to our Catering Team once again for making our lunch so special.
Throughout the day the children took part in different activities. Make sure you have look on the class blogs to see what they got up to. We have just loved being able to mix classes again and see our older pupils supporting the younger ones.
A big thank you to all the staff who have worked hard to make the school look special and for organising such a fantastic day!
