Sports Day Date for your Diary

On Friday 16th May, two Catrine brothers – Alfie in P6 and Jack in P5 – travelled to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow to deliver a presentation at the ASSIST Conference, on behalf of EAC.
Members of every Scottish local authority were present at the conference, which was focusing on how communities can tackle climate change and improve their local environment.
With Alfie being recognised as EAC’s Youth Climate Change Champion at an awards ceremony earlier this month, it was only right that he delivered EAC’s message (and he asked if his wee brother could help out too!)
We are so proud of how well both boys did – speaking confidently and clearly to a packed conference room and then answering questions. What a credit they are to our school, our community and their family. Well done!

The money will be used to create a garden to grow vegetables and for loose parts for the playground.
Thank you to everyone that supported us and dropped the blue counters into our box.

Loads of events happening at the A.M Brown Institute
Our whole school summer trip to Heads of Ayr Farm Park will be on Wednesday 25th June.
Thank you to everyone that has handed in their child’s permission form and payment.
Again thank you to the Parent Council making a donation towards the cost of the trip.
Parentpay is open for payments, if you are having problems with Parentpay please contact the school.
As we will be away for the full school day, we need to make plans for how many pupils will require a school meal/packed lunch on this day.
If you haven’t already done so, please complete the link below by Friday 30th May.
Summer Trip Lunch Requirements
Thank you

Your child will come home today with information about the P7 Transition Evening on 26th May.
We hope you can attend.
As the lovely weather continues, we would like to remind everyone of the sun safe message.
Can we ask that you apply sunscreen prior to your child attending school?
Please do not send sunscreen into school.
Your child can wear a sunhat, if they wish, and can bring a bottle of water to have in class.
Thank you.

Well done to this week’s Ruby Reward winners for being excellent pupils in the dinner hall.

Well done to Ethan in P2 and Lucie in P6 who were both awarded Second Place in their age categories at Saturday’s Catrine Show Art Competition. They each received a bag of goodies from the Cattle Show organisers.
Look out for our artwork in the chemist window and in the Cotton Trail – they love displaying our wonderful artwork!
Well done, Lucie (Ethan is off school ill 🙁 )
I’m not quite sure how – but we are now well into the last term of P7. This is another busy term, so I thought we would get started with the bits and pieces that will be needed for the end of the session.
We are looking for a baby photo of every pupil in the class as well as two present day pictures or selfies. Please email them to me at fiona.mccaig2@eastayrshire.org.uk
We can’t wait to see them all.
Mrs McCaig
Do you have a yoga mat at home that you do not use?
If so, we would be delighted if you would donate them to the school.
Either send your child along with it or hand in to the office.
Thank you
