Dates and times for making Lanterns for Make Catrine Sparkle.

Catrine Primary School pupils will have the opportunity to make a Lantern in school on Friday 15th & Friday 22nd November.

After school Homework Club

Our second block of Homework starts next week with a Literacy focus.

To support both pupils and parents/carers, we will have an after school Homework Club from 3.00-4.00pm, on Tuesdays 12^th, 19^th and 26^th November and 3^rd December.

Pupils and parents/carers of all stages are invited to join us.

It’s a drop-in session so parents and pupils don’t need to come every week or stay for the full time – the time can be used to help support our pupils to complete their Literacy homework and to use laptops for research/reference, if required.

If you’re planning to join us, please collect your child as usual at 3.00pm then make your way to our Main Office.

Literacy Morning

A warm welcome to all family and friends on Tuesday 12th November from 9.00am – 10.20am,

to visit our classes and see the fantastic Literacy learning and teaching taking place in our school.

The after school club will be focusing on the upcoming Sports Hall Athletics event.

This event brings all the local primary schools together to compete against one another.

The after school club will run for 4 weeks, starting on Monday 4th November, from 3pm – 4pm.

Please ensure your child has suitable indoor gym shoes for this club.

Please note the change to the lunch menu on Friday 15th November.

If you have already booked a lunch on Parentpay, you will have to go back in and reorder for this day.

We will be taking the whole school to Kilmarnock Odeon on Thursday 19th December to see ‘The Wild Robot’ as an end of term treat.

The cost of the ticket and a small snack are £8 per person, with the Parent Council kindly donating £4 per child to keep the cost down.

Parents/Carers are being asked to donate £4.00 per pupil to be paid via Parentpay.

Your child will come home today with a consent form – please return as soon as possible, and payment to be made by Monday 2nd December.

If your child is not attending the trip, please let the school know. Thank you

Just Jeans, Auchinleck have informed us that they are closing down.

They have Catrine Primary School polo shirts, sweetshirts and cardigans available to buy at half price.

They also have other clothing available for other schools.

Sale starts on Tuesday 5th November, 10am – 4pm. Cash or Card.

Pop along if you can and purchase items for next school year.

If you go down the street today, be sure of a big surprise…..BOO!!!

Thank you to Catrine Pharmacy for asking the pupils to decorate pumpkins for their Hallowe’en window display.

The Pharmacy will be holding Hallowe’en on Thursday,  pop down for your ‘Trick or Treat’

Primary 7 will be selling Poppies from Wednesday 30th October till Friday 8th November. Poppies cost £1.00 each.

Please don’t send in cash, payment can be made via Parentpay.

All monies raised will be forwarded to “The Scottish Poppy Appeal”.

Well done to our Ruby Reward winners this week for being excellent pupils in our dinner hall

We will be celebrating Hallowe’en on Thursday 31st October at the school.

Pupils can either come to school in a Hallowe’en costume or dressed in casual clothes like a Dress Down Day.

Please ensure that their Hallowe’en costume is suitable for playing outside during interval and lunch, and that they can take it on and off by themselves when using the toilet.

If you wish your child to go home at lunchtime to change, please inform the school of this arrangement.

Please note – no huge accessories (swords etc) or scary masks.

Our pupils will be taking part in Hallowe’en activities throughout the day and will be having a party in their class in the afternoon.

We’re looking forward to a spooky and fun-filled day!
