Winter Odeon Trip

We will be taking the whole school to Kilmarnock Odeon on Thursday 19th December to see ‘The Wild Robot’ as an end of term treat.

The cost of the ticket and a small snack are £8 per person, with the Parent Council kindly donating £4 per child to keep the cost down.

Parents/Carers are being asked to donate £4.00 per pupil to be paid via Parentpay.

Your child will come home today with a consent form – please return as soon as possible, and payment to be made by Monday 2nd December.

If your child is not attending the trip, please let the school know. Thank you

Hallowe’en at Catrine Primary School

We will be celebrating Hallowe’en on Thursday 31st October at the school.

Pupils can either come to school in a Hallowe’en costume or dressed in casual clothes like a Dress Down Day.

Please ensure that their Hallowe’en costume is suitable for playing outside during interval and lunch, and that they can take it on and off by themselves when using the toilet.

If you wish your child to go home at lunchtime to change, please inform the school of this arrangement.

Please note – no huge accessories (swords etc) or scary masks.

Our pupils will be taking part in Hallowe’en activities throughout the day and will be having a party in their class in the afternoon.

We’re looking forward to a spooky and fun-filled day!

Catrine Primary School Defibrillator

Thanks to Jack Gillies for completing the Kilt Walk back in May on behalf of the Catrine Games Hall Trust and raising over £3000 for use by the school, which included a large donation from Alan Thomas of Shire Housing.

We have a brand new defibrillator installed at our school kitchen door for use by the community and we have plans for St John’s Ambulance staff to come to the school and train staff, pupils and community members in the safe use of the defibrillator.

The remainder of the money that Jack raised – the wonderful sum of £2272 – will be used to purchase resources to support the teaching of the wider curriculum in our school, such as cooking and baking equipment, specialist art equipment for screen printing and outdoor learning resources.

Thanks also to Mrs Robertson in our office for organising to have the defibrillator installed, with Magnus Electrical Services installing it free of charge as part of their community payback scheme.

Please note that the Defibrillator is only accessible during Term Time.

Harvest Thanks

Thank you to all pupils, staff and families who donated food items in tins and packets for our Harvest Collection today, which was proudly displayed at our main entrance.
As always, the generosity of our wee village and families is overwhelming.
All donations will be handed over to the Committee of the Over 50s/12 o’clock Club with Mrs Paal, Mr Gillies and the committee sharing out the items amongst the Catrine residents that could benefit from them.
