We were delighted to welcome our P1 parents into school this afternoon. Our P1 pupils were super excited to show off their new classroom and demonstrate how well they have settled into school.
We asked our Big Question “How effective was our transition programme ?” Here are the responses:
- My son seems to be settling in well and is enjoying school.
- Really good experience. Buddy system is good as it made her feel more confident to come to the school. More open days would be good.
- Buddy system is excellent.
- Transition days from nursery to primary one were very good. They were frequent enough that ‘big school’ was often talked about at home and looked forward to.
- Really good transition program. Really helped my son familiarise himself with school and made starting in August a lot easier.
- It really helped build confidence and look forward to starting school.
- School visits really helped my son getting used to coming and kind of knowing what to expect.
- I felt the transition process was really beneficial and the regular visits helped my children become familiar with the school. I found the info session and info packs really helpful too.
- Buddy system is amazing. Gives them support and someone to turn to.
- My son loved all his transition visits and spoke about his buddy often.
