Shoot to Saturn – Design a Rocket Challenge

This year Catrine Primary school have joined the Shoot to Saturn mission. This means we are completing active travel journeys in order to collect s-miles to power our rockets with enough energy to make it to Saturn.  Active Travel Journeys include walking, park and strides and using a bike or scooter to get from one place to another.

Primary 6 are this years active travel commanders. This means that we communicate with Mission Control to ensure we are on track with our journey. As active travel commanders, P6 set all pupils the challenge of designing their own rocket for our mission. Classes then exchanged rockets and voted on which rocket would represent each class.

Our winners were chosen today:

P1 – Miller

p2 – Ella

P3 – Lyle

P4 – Logan

P5 – Kacey

P6 – Poppy

P7 – Jacob

We cannot wait to continue this journey!

Christmas Dinner

Can you help us……?

We are looking for old rolls of wall paper.

Do you have any lying in a cupboard?  It does not need to be a full roll, – any amount of paper left on the roll would be great.

If you have any please let us know, and hand into the school before Friday.

Thank you

JRSO – Be Safe Be Seen

Friday 22nd November – Be Safe Be Seen

The JRSO committee are asking for pupils to come to school on Friday in bright clothes as part of our whole school Road Safety awareness raising.

This is optional and pupils can still wear their school clothes, if they wish.

Home Circles @ November 2024

In our Home Circles today we focused on Article 31 of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.

Article 31 states that ‘every child has the right to leisure, play and culture’.

We discussed how important it is to work together to make sure all areas of our school are safe, healthy and inclusive.

Our BIG focus was –

  • In our playground you will see …
  • In our Dinnerhall you will see …
  • In Assembly you will see …

Our answers will be used to create our new School Charters which you will see displayed around the school.

We also focused on our CATRINE Value of Teamwork.
