Pink group November post

The children have been working hard inside and outside. We have been exploring letter, words, numbers and shape. Here are some photos of their work.

Abi has been working hard to develop her writting skills. She is attempting to underwrite a range of different words using different writting materials such as chalk, pencils and chalkboard pens.

Logan has been exploring numbers outside. He was able to identify a few numbers on our number square.

Harry has been developing his fine motor skills when using the tap tap resources to hammer shapes and pins into the board.

Katie has been attempting to identify numbers 1-10, she also managed to order numbere 1-5.

Olivia has shown an interest in writting. She has been attempting to develop her letter formation when copying letters from the words around our board.

Callum has been working hard to develop his concentration skills when participating in activities. Callum showed good concentration when using the tap tap hammers to hammer shapes into the board.

Cole showed an interest in the tap tap hammers. He spent some time developing  his fine motor skills when hammering the shapes into the board.

💛 11th of November

Over the past couple of weeks we have been exploring the human body in the Gruffalo room whilst in the Elmer room, the kids had access to wonderful firework learning experiences.

Ava loved using the dice outside. She had great fun with her friends following the instruction in which it landed on. Above, you can see Ava skipping.

Charlotte took a great interest in the babies. She took her time in learning how to put on the vest and made sure she had every last popper done!

Allan enjoyed using the light box to see the skeleton beneath our bodies, he did a great job of identifying the legs and then pointing to the same area of his own.

Matthew took an interest in building a rocket outdoors. He displayed great problem solving when he discovered the best way to get his friend inside it was to lift it up over his head.

I often find Braxton with a paintbrush in hand and when it came to fireworks it was no different. He was inspired by the two images of the easel and used fantastic brushstrokes to create his own beautiful firework display.

Aaron has loved exploring the different parts of his body he can use for moving the ball. Above, he had great fun flinging the ball up into the air then catching it. He also enjoyed kicking it around.

Orange Group Blog – 28/10/20 until 11/11/20

The orange group have been learning and participating in lots of fun and exciting things the last two weeks. Some of the things we have been learning about are guy fawkes night and fire safety, forces, puppet theatre and pantasaurus.

April has been mixing paint and glitter to make fireworks.

Demi has been using the puppets to create a puppet theatre show with her peers.

Emily has been working hard creating tickets for the puppet theatre show.

Carson has been learning about filling and pouring. For example, what happens when we fill things up and empty things such as heavy and light.

Thomas has been toasting marshmallows on our ‘camp fire’.

Ayla has been using various materials to create her own fireworks above the houses in the tuff spot.

Riley has been using the construction bricks to create a bridge he can walk over.

Layla was creating her own story using props and figures. She was putting all the people in the jail.

Clara loves reading books. She was able to tell me what was happening in the story from the pictures.

Wallace has been exploring shapes. He’s perservered and completed this puzzle.

Value of the Month

This month the value we will be exploring will be fairness.  We would like to find out what the children think fairness means and also what parents/carers think 🤔

We will be emphasising fairness to the children in their play throughout the day and encouraging their understanding of this value within our shared vision here in Catrine ECC and the primary school.  The children will be bringing a sheet home that encourages their ideas and also any adult comments and thoughts.

Here is one I made today, lots of lovely comments and markings from the children as well as my own comment, if you could please bring this back to the ECC where the sheet can be placed in a tray at the door at drop off and pick up times.  Thank you, we appreciate your support 💕

Busy Week in Group A

This week in Group A the children have been really busy making their own interpretations of fireworks and have been using lots of descriptive language.  We have had lots of messy fun 😀

We have been learning about body parts and the correct names.  The children were enjoying using their friends to investigate parts of the body and label them correctly 💕

Halloween rhyme

The children in bubble A and bubble B have been working hard all week to learn a Halloween rhyme to share with everyone.

Happy Halloween 🎃

Pumpkin Treasure Hunt

With COVID restrictions in place this year Halloween might look a bit different for everyone.

This is why the staff and children here at Catrine ECC have worked hard all week to create a fun activity for the whole family to do over the weekend at a time that suits.

Each child has a paper copy home also.

Halloween Pumpkin Hunt 2020

Don’t forget to take selfies at a pumpkin with your child and send them into Jan.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🙂
