Thank you to everyone that kindly donated on Friday, for the collection towards Red Nose Day and the ECC Snack Fund. We raised a total of £135.74. Half will be sent to Red Nose Day and half to our snack fund.
Thank you again for your generosity, it is appreciated.
Today Bonnie was introduced to all of our Sea Creatures.

Again, Bonnie had such a fab day and is currently lying exhausted at my feet after meeting so many new friends today 🙂
This bubble also spoke of the importance of having gentle hands with Bonnie and what we need to give her to keep her happy and healthy.

Well, as most of you would have seen yesterday morning Bonnie finally got to make her first appearance at the centre.
Like all of our “new starts” she is on a settling in period just now and in line with her risk assessment is meeting small groups of children, in separate bubbles at a time.
Yesterday Bonnie met all of the Magnificent Minibeasts and she had a ball!
The children have been learning all about nurture and how you would care for different living things such as babies, plants and, of course, animals on the run up to her arrival.
Bonnie joined in at group time for her first day, and listened well to the children’s ideas of what she needs to make her feel happy, loved and cared for. Some of the children even had a wee turn at telling her to sit – she showed off and gave a paw, so obviously got rewarded with a wee treat 🙂

While Bonnie was here she thoroughly enjoyed exploring in both of our outdoor areas and can’t wait to get back to the ECC to spend some time with the Sea Creatures.
On Friday 19th March we will be supporting Comic Relief by wearing something red. The children can also come along to the centre wearing something red. A donation bucket will be placed beside Janet at both drop off and pick up times to allow parents to make a donation, if they wish to.
Any money collected will be split in half between the charity and our Catrine ECC snack fund.

It has been an exciting week here at the ECC celebrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths with a huge range of fantastic new resources. Each bubble have had the chance to explore and investigate our terrific learning opportunities with the silent disco being a huge hit! We have been so busy and the week has been jam packed with learning and laughter. The smiles on the children’s faces and the excitement and curiosity during experiments has been superb. We hope everyone has a great weekend and comes back refreshed and full of beans next week ready to explore our nurture focus ♥

Good afternoon boys and girls, I hope you are all well. We are adding a mathematical theme to our GLOW blog every second week to help promote numeracy and all it entails, using a range of household and outdoor resources.
Today we have a little challenge – can you all look through the house and see how many circular objects you can find? When you have found what you are looking for you could draw some pictures and send them to me.
Walking outside, you could also look for circular or other shaped objects and let me know by either taking pictures, or drawing them for me.

World Book Week allowed us to explore so much and we wanted to share with you some of the fun we had.

We have had lots of fun learning about Elmer. We made our own elephants out of milk cartons, we created different patterns, we collaged a large Elmer and played a colour by number game. We also learned it’s ok to be unique and discussed how Elmer looked different.

It has been a long and fun week for everyone in the Sea Creatures bubble. We have had so much fun celebrating World Book Week and participating in a wide range of activities.

Throughout the week the children will be given the opportunity to explore a variety of experiences under the above headings. As a wee treat for the children we have purchased a SILENT DISCO as one of their Technology experiences.
Like any good party, the choice of music either makes it or breaks it. As much as we would LOVE to put on some Whitney Houston songs, Take That, Rod Stewart or GBX tunes it’s not about us (until 3pm hits LOL) so we need your help …..
Can you simply pop your child’s favourite song on the form below to allow us to play it for them and hopefully get them up dancing with their friends?
It can be anything from Disney classics to Gerry Cinnamon, Tik Tok favourites to Ed Sheeran.

The children have enjoyed participating in activities such as fishing for number fish, creating/designing shape fish & making bubbles.
During our World Book Day week the Minibeast have had lots of fun exploring the story ‘Aliens Love Underpants’. We have been using our creative skills to make our own aliens using connects and potatoes with a range of craft materials. We were also designing underpants for the aliens using lots of bright colours. The children have further developed their role play skills when washing the underpants in our water tray. They then created their own washing line to hang the underpants on, just like in the story.

Today the children really enjoyed a bookbug session with Sandra in the green space, the children had great fun singing, listening to stories and using the props, thank you Sandra ♥
Today the children enjoyed exploring the story We’re going on a bear hunt.
The children also participated in activities such as making bear masks, exploring the sensory tuff tray, re-enacting the bear hunt in the greenspace, creating a story board and pencil control activities.

Today to celebrate World Book Day some of the children enjoyed the story ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’. We read the story together and explored it further with lots of interesting learning experiences where we discussed Tigers, recalled the story, made our very own tiger masks, paintings and tiger patterns. We also enjoyed creating our own tea party in the role play area as well as in the water tray. I have added a video of the story for all the children to enjoy with their grown ups before bedtime. Hope you all enjoy it too.
