Friday 12th June – Daily Task

Good morning boys and girls, I hope you have been having a fantastic week!

Today, I have planned a fun and exciting activity for you to do at home with your family. This is a follow on from Marion’s lovely story about the gingerbread man. I know that the gingerbread man is a favourite within the nursery so I thought, why don’t we make our own gingerbread boy/girl and houses for them?!

Don’t worry, you do not need to go out and buy the packs if you do not wish – below are links to make your own from scratch!

2PM – FOOD AND HEALTH

Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you are all having a lovely Friday 🙂 Today, we are going to be making our very homemade pizza’s! Don’t worry if you have not got pizza bases, unfortunately the Gilmour household could not get any so we used pitta breads as an alternate!

Let’s be creative and have some family fun! You can pick whatever you like to put on your pizza and make funny faces or as colourful and creative as you like. Why don’t you even help your adults prepare the food to go onto it by giving them a helping hand to grate or chop things.

I have attached a picture of the recipe if you need one and some pictures of when my family and I made some homemade pizzas on Wednesday.

Remember have fun and use this as a time to spend some quality family time together! Also, don’t forget to send in your master pieces to Alana so we can all see them to alana.speirs@east-ayrshire.gov.uk

10AM – FOOD AND HEALTH

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you have settled back into home learning after your Easter break 🙂

Challenge: To make a picture of a face out of fruit, vegetables or your favourite food.

This challenge will also give you the opportunity, along with support from your adults, to cut the food into pieces and sizes of your choice to make your picture or face.

I have attached a few examples to give you an idea, however, be as imaginative as possible!

I hope you and your adults have great fun doing this challenge and remember to send your completed pictures and/or videos to alana.speirs@east-ayrshire.gov.uk

I can’t wait to see all your creative and imaginative ideas 🙂

P.S – next week we are going to be making and cooking our own pizzas! You can either get ingredients to make your own dough, which is easily found online or get the ready made dough!

EASTER HOLIDAY FUN!

Happy Easter Weekend everyone!

Today, our holiday fun activity is going to be something that will help to spread cheer and joy to our families, friends and neighbours :-). It is an easy and fun activity to do and you don’t need many resources to participate, so why not get the whole family involved?

We are going to be making our very own Easter cards or pictures, that we can display around our local village or deliver to our family, friends and neighbours to put a smile on their face :-)! You can use any kind of resources that you like such as pens, pencils, paper templates, paint, chalk, anything you like! If you have not got paint at home but would like to use paint here is a link that shows you how to make your very own homemade paint that works a treat:- https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Own-Paint

I have attached a few pictures I found on Pinterest if you need any ideas of what to put on your card/picture and my little brother also made an Easter card that he is going to deliver to his nephew as he misses him so much!

Stay safe everyone, have fun and enjoy your Easter weekend 🙂

2PM – FOOD AND HEALTH

Hello everyone! It is Friday at last!

Today we are going to make our very own lunch boxes! I have attached a copy of an empty lunchbox, if you wish to print it out but it is not essential, we can draw our own!

All you need to do is ask your child to draw what they would pack in their lunchbox if they were going to go on a picnic or out on a day out. You can label this for your child as well.

ADD ON!! – Why not ask your child to help you make up a pack lunch for them that they can have to eat in their room or even make a fort that you can both have lunch in! Enjoy.

10AM POST – FOOD AND HEALTH

Good morning everyone!

Today our home link focus is food and health and the activity I have planned for you all to do is based on healthy and unhealthy foods.

  1. Sit down with your child, grab a pen/pencil with some paper and ask them what they think health and unhealthy means.
  2. Once you have discussed what you think healthy and unhealthy means, ask your child to go through into your kitchen in the fridge/cupboards and find 3 things that are healthy and 3 which are unhealthy.

Remember you can send pictures into Alana of you and your child completing the activity, so why not make two signs, one for healthy and one for unhealthy. Then organise the foods you and your child have found and place them in front of the correct sign. You can take a picture and send it in showing us your knowledge!

I hope both you and your child have a great time exploring healthy and unhealthy foods.

P.S- next week you will need some paper, drawing pens and pencils as we will be making our own lunchboxes!
