Our P6 pupils – Ava G, Nanci-Rose, Robin, Callum and Jessica – recently took part in this year’s Operation Safety Day, a very important event for Primary 6 pupils across Dumfries and Galloway.

Operation Safety is designed to help young people learn about staying safe in a variety of real-life situations as they become more independent and prepare for the future. Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of workshops and discussions led by different agencies and professionals.

The pupils learned about several important topics including:

πŸ’§ Water safety
πŸ”₯ Fire safety
🚫 The dangers of alcohol and drugs
🏘️ Vandalism and anti-social behaviour
⚠️ Making safe and responsible choices

The sessions encouraged pupils to think carefully about risks, personal safety and the importance of making positive decisions. There were lots of opportunities for discussion, questions and practical learning, helping pupils understand how these topics relate to everyday life.

Our pupils represented St Joseph’s brilliantly throughout the day. They listened respectfully, participated fully and showed maturity when discussing some very important issues. We are very proud of the way they engaged with the activities and learning opportunities provided. πŸ‘

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and delivering such an important and valuable event for our young people, and a special thank you to Ms Stevenson for escorting and supporting the pupils throughout the day. 🌟
