🏐 First Netball After-School Club Kicks Off!

Today we held our first Netball After-School Club at St Joseph’s RC Primary with coach Donna Westbrook – and what a brilliant start it was!

The session focused on some core netball skills:

  • Bounce pass cheat and shoulder pass – pupils practised accurate passing and moving into space.
  • Footwork and pivoting – building confidence in controlling movement on court.
  • Shooting from different angles – developing technique and accuracy close to and far from the post.

We then put these skills into practice in a friendly game of netball, letting the children experience real match play.

A fantastic 13 pupils from P4–P7 turned up today – we only need one more to make up two full teams!

🌟 Netball Player of the Week goes to Nanci-Rose for her brilliant pivoting and footwork. Well done!
🌟 Special mention to Gregor, who scored an incredible six goals in a row during the game.

Our team motto is now proudly β€œRespect, Teamwork and Happiness” – perfectly summing up the spirit of our club.

A huge thank you to Donna Westbrook for running the club and to all our pupils for such a super turnout. We can’t wait to see how our skills grow each week!
