π Primary 6 Learn to Stay Safe at Operation Safety! ππ
Today our fantastic Primary 6 pupils had the amazing opportunity to attend Operation Safety β a brilliant event where they learned all about keeping safe in real-life situations! π
Held in partnership with local emergency services and safety organisations, the day was packed with exciting, hands-on workshops and demonstrations. The children took part in a range of activities covering everything from:
π¨ Fire safety and what to do in an emergency
π Water safety β including how to stay safe near open water
π Road safety
π» Online safety tips to help protect themselves on the internet
π©Ή Basic first aid and how to get help in an emergency
β‘ Power line and electricity safety
The children were full of questions and listened so carefully to all the advice given.
We were incredibly proud of how our P6s conducted themselves throughout the day β their behaviour was exemplary, and they set a wonderful example for our school. This group are going to make amazing P7s next year! π
A huge thank you to Mrs McGhie, who accompanied the children for the full day and supported them brilliantly at each activity.
Hereβs what a couple of our pupils had to say:
β “The goggles were terrifying because I couldn’t see where I was going β but it was great fun!” β Gregor
β “I loved getting to make a TikTok-style video about staying safe online β it was really fun!” β Ava W
Weβll be continuing to explore some of the Operation Safety messages back in school over the next few weeks. Stay safe, everyone! π¦Ίβ¨
