Children in Need 2024 – A Fun-Filled Day at St Joseph’s!

This year’s Children in Need at St Joseph’s was a heart-warming and fun-filled day, full of exciting activities and incredible generosity. The whole school came together in their comfiest pyjamas for our Pyjama Day, bringing in donations to support this important cause. It was wonderful to see everyone dressed so cosily and eager to help! 💤✨

In addition to the donations from Pyjama Day, the funds raised from our Monday and Wednesday hot chocolate stall this week also went to charity. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the stall—it’s fantastic to see our community coming together to help others. ☕💛

While the P7s were away in the morning at a careers workshop at the college, the younger pupils (P1-P6) enjoyed Children in Need-themed activities, including colouring, drawing, and fun games. 🎨🖍️ Once the P7s returned, the whole school came together for a creative and exciting activity: making a money trail in the corridor to see how far our donations could stretch! 💰📏

The older children estimated the trail’s length in metres, while the younger ones estimated using pencil lengths. It was a close competition, with Thorin guessing an impressive 6.9 metres, just shy of the actual distance of 6.93 metres—well done, Thorin! 🎉👏

We also ran a popular “Guess the Name of the Dog” competition, featuring a huge cuddly husky dog brought in by Mrs Westbrook. For just 50p per go, each child chose two names for the dog, and we’ll announce the lucky winner on Monday! 🐾🐕

To round off the day, the children enjoyed some delicious homemade Children in Need cupcakes baked by Mrs Westbrook. 🧁 These treats were a big hit and made the day even sweeter. We finished with more fun activities, leaving everyone with smiles on their faces. 😊🎈

We’ll announce the total amount raised next week on our school Facebook page once all the donations have been counted.

A special thank you goes to Mrs Mann for helping to organise all these wonderful activities, even though she couldn’t be there on the day. Your hard work behind the scenes made all the difference! 💐🙏

Thank you again to everyone who made Children in Need 2024 at St Joseph’s such a success. We’re so proud of our pupils and their efforts to make a difference! 🎉🌟
