All Saints Day
Our assembly groups collaborated to learn about different significant saints as part of learning about All Saints Day which falls on the 1st of November. It is a day for Christians to remember and celebrate those who lived before us and contributed to the life of the church and society.
In Roman Catholic tradition, ‘saints’ are Christians who have been recognised as particularly holy people, or who have had miracles attributed to them, so this day is a celebration of these significant figures.
Pupils researched specific saints in their assembly groups then shared their information with their classmates as leaders of learning. The activity supported the children’s understanding of the Holy Spirit strengthening their faith and the faith of the saints. They were given the opportunity to reflect on how the stories of the Saints can inspire us to live a more Christian life.
On Friday 1st November, the whole school took part in an All Saints Mass with our local community. The message from Father Ben was to reflect on how the stories of the Saints can inspire us to live a more Christian life.
