McMillan Coffee Afternoon Success

St. Joseph’s held a very successful Coffee Afternoon as a McMillan Cancer fundraiser. Our Enterprise Group took on leadership responsibility to organise the event, supported by Mrs Mann who chairs the group. Our Parent Council and family volunteers were on hand to help host the well attended community event. The Enterprise group organised advertising, arranged craft activities and games. P5 – 7 used their knowledge of weighing and measuring to make very popular cheesecake & fruit treats to sell along with the delicious donations of home baking we received from our lovely families. There was great chat and a fab time was had by all.

Andy won guess the bear’s name and Ry went home with a yummy chocolate cake after accurately estimating the weight of the cake – a wee opportunity to apply those maths skills.

We are delighted to announce that we raised over £189.15 for this very worthwhile charity. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported this community event.
