This past week, our school community at St. Joseph’s came together to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed in times of war. It was a moving and memorable experience for everyone involved, from our youngest pupils to our dedicated house captains and vice captains. To deepen our reflection, each child wrote a prayer or wish for those currently experiencing the hardships of war. These heartfelt prayers will
This week, our P5-7 class took part in an exciting webinar all about Hydropower in Dumfries and Galloway. This session was a perfect bridge between our previous topic on Scottish Local Biodiversity 🦋 and our new Science focus: Electricity 🔌, showcasing how renewable energy powers our towns sustainably. This week, our dedicated Digital Leaders – Kamil, Ross, and Danielle – held their first Digital Lunch Club, where they shared their tech skills with other pupils. This week, P1-4 had a brilliant time with Helen from the Lighthouse Musicians! The session was all about exploring opposites in music, and the children had lots of fun learning through games and activities. One of the highlights was the game “Where’s the Beanbag?” the children had to listen carefully to the music and figure out whether the sound was loud or soft, fast or slow, or high or low.
Yesterday’s Halloween party was a spooktacular success! Our little ghouls, witches, and monsters had an absolute blast playing musical statues, wrapping the mummy, and corners. We enjoyed some yummy snacks to keep us fueled, and the highlight of the day was when our P5-7 pupils showed off their amazing spooky dance routines! A huge well done to Liana in P1-4 and Nanci-Rose in P5-7 for winning best costumes this year!
