11.5.26 – 22.5.26 – This week’s blog is by Asa and Bobby!
We planted pumpkin plants outside with Joyce! – Bobby



The blue class were learning about cyber hygiene. We made a poster to raise awareness on how to stay safe online and have good cyber hygiene. – Asa












We made little Water Cycles. We got plastic packs, then we wrote the Water Cycle on them. We then put some water in them and some cotton wool balls. We then put them on the window. – Bobby






















We were making up sentences by taking an adverb and a verb from each pile of cards. We were also doing some sequencing. – Asa














We made a big dominoes tower with little spirals! – Jesse
The P1’s were writing their tricky words. – Bobby











In the blue class we have been playing a new game called Kaboom for maths. To play you pick lolly pop sticks out of a cup, each of them will have a sum on a certain times table or it will have Kaboom, if you pick this you have to put all your sticks back. No one ever actually wins! – Asa









We have been practising our Sports Day activities such as floorball, wellie boot throw and the co-operative skis. – Asa & Bobby











The school value was honesty and Asa and Bessie won it! Ainsley and Angus got Pupil of the Week!
We went to Lochrutton for the Barbour cup. We played in a series of matches against Lochrutton and Kirkgunzeon. We came 2nd place by 1 point! – Asa & Bobby




We had a pre school afternoon. We had the parachute out, building blocks, scooters and chalk to draw. – Asa & Bobby































We had Active Schools in to do Highland Games. We played ‘Trolls Den’ where we were in teams and had to get the bean bags from the middle. – Asa



We seen how our Water Cycle’s changed. Mrs McCubbin took the packs down and opened them up and poured the water into a jug to see how much was left. – Bobby











Devyn brought in her sister’s Frenchie called Graham. – Asa


We were making dramas about emotions. – Bobby





We had our Ram Tam performance where family could come in and see what we have been doing with Claire. – Asa & Bobby








We made Pop Art of volcanoes. Pop art is when you use very flat colours of paint and black oil pastels. – Asa
We made butterflies using bits of paper cut up. – Bobby


We had a book delivery that brought in a bunch of new comic books. – Asa
The school value was independence and Devyn and Arlo won it! Jesse and Isla got Pupil of the Week!

27.4.26 – 8.5.26 – This week’s blog is by Jesse and Zamari!

We went to Stirling for a lacrosse tournament against schools in Scotland. We came 4th place in it! It was fun, we worked well together and everyone tried their best. – Ainsley
We put cups in the plant pots to see how much rain water is collected. We filled up jugs with 100ml of water into the trays to show evaporation. Then we drew out the water cycle! – Jesse & Zamari























Here are some activities that have been going on in the yellow class with the P1’s! – Zamari










The P6/7’s have been doing bikeability. We had a slow race, I won once, Ella won once and Aria won twice. We went around the village and practised left and right turns. On the final day we went on a 6 mile cycle! I enjoyed doing this a lot! – Jesse




















I made a notebook bag using crochet. – Jesse
We thought what colour each emotion would be. Then we got paint and used our finger print for each little face and then drew on the face and wrote the emotion underneath. – Jesse













We went outside and looked for dandelions and leaves, we then painted the flower and pressed them onto the paper and took them off to leave a print. We then done the same with the leaves and stems. After that we added bees to the picture. – Zamari










We have had the Solway Sharks in to do some floorball with us. We were in different teams and went against each other! – Zamari













The school value was kindness and Asa and Bessie won it. Shola and Bobby got Pupil of the Week!
We have been doing an after school club for netball for a competition coming up called Fun Fivez. – Jesse



Families came in to have a look at our work and around the school. – Zamari
They also had a look at our School Charter and our new behaviour policy. – Jesse















We made ice lollies with different types of drink. Liquid when frozen becomes solid! We then seen who could melt an ice cube the fastest, I just kept rubbing it between my hands! – Zamari













For Ram Tam we were hitting our instruments to the beat on the cards at the same time. – Zamari
We played the Bluey them tune on the tin whistle! It was very squeaky! – Jesse



We were drawing fish and making sure they were 1 metre long! – Zamari






The school value was effort and Shola and Zara won it! Mirren and Alexander got Pupil of the Week!

20.4.26 – 24.4.26 – This week’s blog is by Mirren and Fergus F!
We made wind socks using plastic cups and coloured crepe paper. We then put them outside and spread them in different places around the playground so they didn’t get tangled. – Mirren & Fergus

























We were highlighting linking sentences, 3 micros, 1 macro, punctuation, time connectives and technical language. This writing was on the water cycle. – Mirren







We had out the boom whackers, they make different sounds. – Fergus


This is us playing a song on them about a flea. – Mirren

We were learning how to use a compass and also looking at coordinates. – Mirren
It was Dougie Day and we came dressed wearing blue. We designed a Dougie in the morning that Mrs Bielinski very kindly drew for us. Then Dougie came in to visit us and played ‘beat the goalie’ and then we had a scavenger hunt for footballs. We raised £25.75! – Mirren & Fergus











We worked in groups to make symmetry pictures using things from the playground. – Fergus









We were making plays in groups, we weren’t allowed to talk in them. My group was about a person getting left out and bullied on a bus. I was the one getting bullied! – Mirren







The school value was independence and Devyn and Angus won it! Jaxson and Zamari got Pupil of the Week!
We got awards for the lacrosse. Asa got one for the most improved player and Ainsley got one for the player of the tournament. – Mirren




We all got certificates for our pictures of Monster Mayhem. We are all going to get published in a book! – Fergus
13.4.26 – 17.4.26 – This week’s blog is by Ainsley & Isla!
We were doing a puzzle of the alphabet and a rhyming puzzle! – Isla






We went outside to play a game for maths. In the game we had to roll the dice and whatever the sum was we ran to the answer and the winner got to roll the dice next. On the iPads we played Sumdog. – Ainsley



The P2/3’s made up some weather reports and then they showed it to the P1’s. – Isla








In the morning some of us were doing jigsaws and some of us were using our imagination to build things. – Ainsley



We were in 2 groups and made sea creatures out of rubbish. My group made a turtle and the other group made a fish. – Isla



For PE we took out the parachute and played a game called ‘sharks and lifeguards’. The P4-7’s and the P1-3’s had a challenge to see who could make the best mushroom shape. – Ainsley & Isla








For Ram Tam we learned a new song and also learned to play a tune on the tin whistle. – Ainsley
We were clapping our hands with the song we were singing. – Isla


Miss McKinnon read us a little story for RME and we had to make different scenes about the story. We made freeze frames. – Ainsley

















We made dramas about being fair and unfair. For my group I wasn’t letting someone play a game with me and that was unfair. – Isla







We drew self portraits for our new class charter display. This is for the rights of the children. – Ainsley & Isla
