Prize to be awarded to winning class. The competition should begin officially from 25 February. All forms of the Fairtrade logo accepted – some are black/white, larger/smaller.  The logos can be found on many products in local supermarkets eg coffee, tea, bananas, biscuits, sweets, chocolate, clothing, flowers and more.

Girls Football Team

Our Girls football team played at the Dumfriesshire Girls Football Festival on Monday 18th February.  Despite some awful weather conditions, the girls played extremely well, winning all their games and showing greats sportsmanship to the other teams.   Well done to them all and thanks to everyone who came along to support the team.

Parent Council Meeting

The minutes from the last Parent Council meeting held on the 30th January are now available under the Parent Council News section on the main menu. Any queries or questions can be directed to the office. The date of the next meeting is 25th February at 6.30pm. Please feel free to come along if you are interested.

P4/3 -Africa

P4/3 has been learning about Africa and used what we found out to inspire our Nobleskills modelling sessions . We had a great time creating a clothes peg safari. We learned that the Ndebele people decorate their homes and clothes with bright patterns and had a go at this ourselves by making models of their huts.

P4 – Swimming Lessons

P4 pupils recently took part in swimming lessons at DGOne@Dumfries Ice Bowl during Jan/Feb. The pupils were a credit to the school and their families. Super behaviour and effort all round! All pupils should have brought home a leaflet with further details about swimming lessons.

P6 – Term 3

Nobleskillz Modelling

During their recent Nobleskillz input P6 have been cooking, upcycling rubbish to create some fabulous art work, line dancing, model making and are currently singing. They have enjoyed all activities so far. During their modelling sessions they were challenged to reproduce a Spanish or a Scottish building in line with this terms theme. I think they made a fantastic job.

Feis Rois

P6 have been benefitting from input from the Feis Rois musical initiative. They are learning Scottish and Gaelic songs and learning to play the Ukulele and Djembe drums. They have had a great time and enjoying this experience.

Let’s get Sporty

Every year the P6 year group get the chance to support the Nursery children when the Let’s get Sporty group come in to work with the children. They are having a great time working with the children, some of which will become their buddies next session.
