P5 – Tongland Hydro Plant
On Wednesday 29th of February, P5 visited Tongland Hydroelectric Plant to learn about hydroelectric power sources. We were shown around the station and saw the generators in use. We were then taken to the reservoir where we got to walk over the dam’s wall. our tour guide opened the flood gates which showed us the full power of the river. We all had a wonderful time and learned a lot about the construction of dams and how they work.

P3/2 & P5 – World Book Day
P3/2 and P5 had some shared reading time yesterday for World Book Day.
World Book Day
Pupils came dressed as characters from their favourite books yesterday. Teachers went with a Harry Potter theme. Everyone looked amazing – well done!
P4/3 – World Book Day
On Thursday 27th of March it was World Book Day. P4/3 had a fairy tale investigation with Miss Bell and then logged in to Get Epic (a reading website) during our ICT time. Once our profiles were set up we decided what sort of books we would like to read and were amazed at all the choices there are. You can even get the computer to read your book to you!
Later on we watched and listened to the poet Michael Rosen who made us all laugh!
P6 – Carlingwark
We climbed Screel the first day and went for tea at Scottish Pantry. On Day 2 we orienteered and mountain biked. The pupils were brilliant as were the Outdoor Ed instructors Alex, Ian and Mike. A big thank you from Miss Cooper & Miss Stewart to Miss O’Farrell and Eve’s mum for their help on the trip.
