With no new primary ones joining us this year, we kick started our “new year, same pupils” 2026-27 year! 🙂 We have however got the lovely, cheery new face of Mrs Arnott who will be teaching the P5-7 class and has enjoyed getting settled into Kirkcolm life!
The P2-4 class have had a jam packed first two days, being dino detectives, learning all about prehistoric life. 🕵️We used our ICT skills to design our very own dinosaurs before heading outside on a dinosaur footprint scavenger hunt – it was like a scene from Jurassic Park (including the running and screaming(but with excitement), before doing some art to create our own pair of dinosaur feet, ready to stomp to the beach in the afternoon to collect sand for our dinosaur fossils! Our fossils were carefully made using a salt dough recipe, which we moulded to make the dinosaurs bones! It was safe to say that the brand new, freshly washed clothes were no more come 3pm! 🤣
The P5-7 class had a nice first few days back getting to know their teacher and for the P5s getting to know their new class! 🙂 They had some team building fun with STEM building activities and outdoor musical challenges to get their heads and listening ears back in gear! 🎵
After a great first two days with a fun vibe for our Kirkcolm tribe, we are looking forward to a fun-filled year ahead! 💖
