Every second Tuesday we make music on Soundtrap with John and Roo. We have lots of fun developing our creativity skills. We are able to make music in lots of different styles. We can express ourselves through the different styles which we create. We have to think about the number of beats and bars in our tracks as well as the different musical instruments.
We have developed our communicating and collaborating skills as well as our creativity skills.

In P7R we have been learning about Speed, Distance, and Time in maths.
We took our learning outside to calculate our speed by measuring various distances and timing ourselves walking, running, skipping and jumping these distances.
Once we knew our distance and the time it took to travel that distance, we could calculate our speed.
We were curious about how our speed changed due to different factors so we compared our speed going the same distance on the pitch compared to the muga and the tarmac. It made us think about how speed, distance, and time are not just numbers they’re connected to the world around us.
We collaborated with partners to measure the distances and record our partners times.
Primary 6 pupils have been choosing a person from history to research and present to the class. We worked in two’s to complete this task. Click on our work to see our learning.
Primary 6 has been learning all about perimeter and using the formula 2 x (l+b) to calculate. We then took our learning outdoors and measured the perimeter of certain parts of the playground.

As part of Mental Health Week 2025, P7R have been learning all about this years theme ‘Know yourself, grow yourself.’
We discussed that by being self-aware, people can better understand and manage their feelings and overcome any challenges they face.
We made coping strategy wheels that we can use inside and outside of class to help regulate our emotions.
We also took part in some Mental Health Week yoga.
To conclude Mental Health Week, P5-7 organised a games afternoon for members of the community. We all played a selection of games and enjoyed some great conversations!
P7 Pupils had a visit from Briony from Sustrans who spoke to us about air quality. We learnt about air pollution and what we can do to make the air we breathe cleaner.
We then headed out on a lichen hunt to the front and back of the school. We investigated the different types of lichen and came to the conclusion that the air is cleaner in the playground as opposed to the front of the school.
Ask us about the different types of lichen and what they mean!
