Primary 3 have been learning about 3D shapes and their properties. Recently, they were given a challenge to create 3D shapes using straws and playdough. They had to think about the number of edges, faces and vertices of each shape. Look at the results!
Primary 3/4 have been learning more about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
We discussed Articles 7 and 8 (Right to a name and identity) and we took part in learning singing games and French games involving our names, wrote our own wee book introducing ourselves, made our names using different materials and created our Superhero Selfie artwork.
We have been carrying out lots of different activities as part of settling into our new class. One of these activities involved going outdoors and creating a stone representation of our family.
Briony from Sustrans came in to carry out a puncture repair activity. We were given the chance to locate and repair a puncture on a bike tyre.
We enjoyed this and hopefully we will be able to use these skills in the future.
Primary 3/4 collaborated to create our own Class Charter.
After discussion, pupils decided to focus on the following rights for our charter: right to learn, right to be safe, right to be heard, right to play and the right to make friends.
Pupils chose a Lego theme to display our class charter. We added how pupils (Rights Holders) can respect these rights and how adults (Duty Bearers) can respect and protect these rights.
We carried out a STEM challenge which was working in teams to create the tallest and strongest tower using only spaghetti and marshmallows.
Primary 6 have been learning about 9/11 and the events that took place that day. As part of our work, we had to research information and create a timeline of events.
