P6 children have started regularly coming over to nursery to work with the nursery children and support their digital technology learning. This will continue throughout the year and we are planning on being joined by some P7 children as well 🙂

We have been learning about food chains. We went on a hunt for different animals which are part of a food chain. We worked with a partner to identify producers and consumers. We also played food chain tig where we had to find animals that would eat us. We created a food web using string to show how all the food chains are connected. We used our adapting, curiosity and focussing skills. It was exciting and challenging.

We made different models using lego spike. We had to choose a build and then use the iPads to create coding sequences in order for our model to move. We used leadership, communication and collaborating skills. It was really exciting.

Our parents were invited in for an open afternoon. Our afternoon was very sporty and we took part in different sports. We used meta skills such as adapting, leading and focussing. It was a fun afternoon.

We went outside to create pictures of different creatures. We had to use materials which we found outside. We created creatures such as snakes, butterflies and snails! We used our creativity, critical thinking and adapting skills. We thought it was really fun.

A very busy afternoon on Tuesday where we invited parents and carers in to Meet their Child’s new teacher. Lots of fantastic activities related to Meta Skills as well as the launch of our new Positive Relationship Policy.

Primary 1 have settled well into the routines of Heathhall school.
