SEEMiS

All Dumfries & Galloway Council Education and Children’s Services establishments use SEEMiS to record data relating to pupil attendance.

Dumfries & Galloway published its own SEEMiS attendance guidance in May 2024 to ensure consistency and accurate SEEMiS attendance coding.

Any enquires in relation to SEEMiS and attendance coding should be directed to the MISS Team at MISS@Dumgal.gov.uk.

In Secondary Schools, attendance must be recorded during each period of the day.

Completing an attendance register is the responsibility of the class teacher. This includes visiting specialist teachers, supply teachers and ‘cover’ teachers.

In areas of the school where computer access is not possible, a paper register should be completed and sent to the school office within the first 10 minutes of a period. Under no circumstances should registers be projected onto white boards, and the computer screen in use should face away from pupils in order to comply with Data Protection Legislation.
