Dumfries and Galloway Educational Psychology Service is a statutory educational service for children and young people normally resident in, or looked after by, Dumfries and Galloway council.
What we do
The role of an Educational Psychologist can vary depending on the situation and a young person’s needs. In Dumfries and Galloway the team are usually involved at primary and secondary school ages but can be involved from the early years to the transition into adulthood. Our services are normally requested by the child’s school.

To discuss named children or young people consent must be sought from someone with parental responsibilities and/or the young person if over the age of 12. The parent or young person has the right to say what information you are allowed to share. There is supplementary guidance on recording consent in the Educational Psychology Service folder on Glow.
