Supporting our staff/ pupils to receive awareness training, practical advice and information about dementia.

Distributing “Tips for Shops and Businesses” information to all staff and pupils.

Ensuring all people who may be living with dementia are supported with understanding, dignity and respect.

Well done to all those involved.

Pop Up Cafe

Pupils have been working hard over the past few weeks to prepare dishes for the Soup & Sweet Pop Up Café. Both Tesco and the Co-op in Castle Douglas have kindly donated ingredients to support us. The event will take place on Thursday 8th February at Dalry School, 13:15, £5 per ticket. Tickets are being sold in advance to ensure we are aware of any allergies or accessibility issues. If interested contact the school for more information. 01644 430259

Pupils improve their understanding of dementia

Many thanks to Jill Rennie from Alzheimer Scotland who visited the school to speak to the pupils about dementia. All S1 to S3 pupils took part in the two workshops during PSE. The workshops explored issues surrounding dementia and how we can look to be more understanding of people who have dementia. Pupils were presented with certificates to recognise their increased understanding of dementia.
