Gardening Club – Lunchtime Session 1

Brrrrr! What a chilly session!

Our very first lunchtime club began with everyone working together to plant some new strawberry and broad bean plants into the raised beds. They looked very happy to be placed in such nutritious soil (lots of horse manure has been previously added!), however a cold snap came over Dalry, hailstones and all, which might have sadly killed off our beans. We’ll need to keep a very close eye on them, but we’ve added some extra protection from the elements in shape of mini greenhouses!

We also built a greenhouse that we found in the shed, it had definitely seen better days, so decided to treat ourselves to a brand new one. We can’t wait to build it next week!

Next week’s jobs:

CD spinners,

Pumpkin seed planting,

Tattie planting,

Tending to all the beds and pots.. Busy, busy!
