Staff Changes
Mrs Handley (clerical assistant Thurs & Fri) has been appointed to the position of full-time clerical assistant at Lockerbie Academy.
We are sure you will agree that she has been a real asset to our team and will be missed by pupils and staff. She leaves us on Friday 26th March. We will have cover in place until this post can also be filled.

Wellies/Change of Clothes for All Pupils 🥾
Can all pupils please bring a change of shoes or wellies and if possible change of clothes each day as we will be outside as much as possible. Thank you
Nursery Storytime with Auntie Beth
This weeks story was Room on the Broom, read to us by Auntie Beth from Dryfemount. What a special way to celebrate World Book Day! Here we are with a little “thank you Auntie Beth!”
Shadows 👥
With all the lovely sunshine we have been looking at the bulbs coming up through the ground and saw our shadows. We have been looking at our shadows and how it changes with different moves we make! The next time it is sunny why don’t you give it a try?
Dinosaurs 🦕
We have been learning about dinosaurs and we were wondering how we know so much about them although they are extinct. We have been researching and discovered we know so much about them because of fossils. Palaeontologists are scientists who study fossils and they have found fossils everywhere. We have made some of our own. We are going to bury them into the sand pit next week and become Palaeontologists. We have also been drawing some of the dinosaurs and created a super display for the classroom.
Den Building! 🏕
We have been making mini dens out in the playground, we had to use what we could find on the ground. Working from the ground up, the children could build their own ideas from scratch, so they needed to be creative with the materials they use. We made a dinosaur den and thought about the different houses they may live in. We found that some made nests, and some lived in the forest. We all had a mini dinosaur to make a den for.
Out and About at Collin
This week we have been enjoying the sunshine and have been exploring Collin. We have enjoyed our walks that some members of the class have walked with their families and lead the way for the rest of us!
