P7 have had a busy day today – half the class got to work with Active Schools on their play leaders course, this is where they learn leadership skills that they will put into action later in the year. The other half will complete their session next week. This afternoon we had a hockey refresher session and quickly remembered the skills from the end of P6 and got straight to playing games against each other!
House Captains
Primary 7 children have been very busy preparing speeches for the posts of House and Vice Captain. The children recorded their speeches and these were posted on Teams for P5,6 & 7 to vote on who they thought would best representative their house for this session.
All the children who took part did a super job and it was terrific to hear how confident they have all become.
Here are photos of the children who were voted in to our Captaincy Team for 2021/22:
Pupil Council
Representatives from P4-7 met with Mrs Davidson and Mr Valentine for our first Pupil Council meeting of the session. On the agenda was reviewing our current school values and suggesting possible new ones.
The children also discussed ways we would be able to promote these values within our school community.
Here are the P4 & 5 children busy round the meeting table:
Meet the IBike Crew!
The IBike Crew had their first meeting of the session this week. This was a planning meeting for the term ahead and the children shared lots of imaginative ideas of how they could encourage people to walk, cycle or scoot to school.
Watch this space as an exciting competition will be coming your way soon!
Amazing Emotion Words!
Today Primary 3 were working on their emotion words. The children watched a short animation about a young girl who found some bubbles. They then decided to have a play with bubbles to see how it made them feel. Afterwards the children came up with some super words such as …….delighted, excited, relaxed, wonderful and cheerful!

Woodland Learning
Primary 5 had their first Woodland session of the new school year. They had been introduced to their new class novel, Kensuke’s Kingdom and made their own boats, in teams. The boat needed to have a sail and be large enough for the group to stand on.
Primary 5 then enjoyed some role play on their boats!
