This morning we decided to jog to Castledykes Park to see the new wooden stand. It was the first time most of us had seen it and we were very impressed. We were even more impressed that we managed to jog 2km before our school day even started!
St Andrew's Primary School Blog
"A COMMUNITY OF FAITH AND LEARNING THAT VALUES EVERYONE FOR WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEY BRING."
Lovely to see lots of different activities going on around our school this afternoon. Primary 4 had visitors in helping with their musical skills. Primary 5 were busy practising athletics with Active Schools. In Primary 3 the children have been learning about the Victorian era and today they were looking at Victorian inventions. Popping in to P2 saw some budding artists hard at work. The concentration on their faces was amazing!
Primary 5 also chose the theme of ‘Our Scottish Heritage’ for our learning train this month and this is really brightening up our corridor!
As you are aware as a school community we have been busy reviewing our school values this session and we thank everyone for their help with this. Primary 6 have worked with Mr Parkhouse to create this fantastic display in the entrance hall.
As a school we have decided in January to focus on the overall promotion of these values. We will then look at one of the values each month and have this as our key focus. We will share our work on this through our displays, newsletters and the blog.
The Value we will be looking at in February is Respect.
P6 and P7 have been bringing donations for the foodbank to school as part of their reverse advent calendar – we donated to D&G LIFT which helps local families – we thank everyone for their support and are encouraged to see the generosity of our families to help those less fortunate in our local community. Thank you!
P7 have been working hard during the Soundtrap sessions. We have created new music, added sound effects to our stories and created podcasts together.
