Hallowe’en Celebrations

Today in Primary 3 we had a super Hallowe’en themed day.  In the morning we created animated stories on the computer and built haunted houses using a range of construction materials.  We also used our creative skills in a variety of arts and crafts activities.  In the afternoon we played party games and had a ‘spooktacular’ Daily Mile outside!

The costumes were amazing, as I am sure you will agree from the photos below.

P4 Renewable Energy Projects

As we ended the term this week P4 celebrated everything they have learned about Renewable Energy by sharing their fantastic homework projects.  They were so impressive with everything from working water wheels, to erupting volcanoes, geothermal power plants, solar powered homes and wind turbines.  Some of the boys and girls even sent me videos on Teams explaining how their models worked and the presentation skills were super!

Thank you P4 for all the hard work. I think you all had fun too and learned lots!

Measure Challenges in Primary 3

Today for problem solving we had to create a bridge with  a length of 30cm and height 10cm.  It also had to carry a tower of blocks weighing 20 g.  It was a fun way to practise our measure.

We also went to the woods to estimate and measure the length of sticks.  We had to find 1 stick which was appox 30cm.  3 sticks which together would measure 1 metre and 1 stick which we estimated would be about 1/2 metre.  Some of our estimates were pretty close!
