To complete our fairyland focus, P2 had a truly magical time at our recent visit to Moatbrae – Where Peter Pan began…
We arrived in style, chauffeur driven by Mr V, and met with our guides for the day – Wendy, Barbara and Dorito Annie. The children could hardly contain their excitement as they roamed the house and gardens. Barbara, our house guide, told the children tales of a young J.M. Barrie and his friends running about the house. Their imaginations were in overdrive as they ran around the nursery, catching Tinkerbell in the nursery, presenting plays in the attic, singing nursery rhymes in the reading room, peeking through the keyhole in the study and soaking up the festive spirit with the beautiful decorations. In the garden, the resident pirate, Dorito Annie held the children spellbound as they chased crocodiles, braved Tick Tock Croc, and squealed with delight as they spotted ‘crocodiles’ silently floating down the Nith! Knocking on fairy doors and planting daffodils bulbs were an added bonus. Lastly, Wendy helped the children make some beautiful Christmas cards, and read Christmas stories, before our chauffeur for the day arrived to take some very happy, but extremely tired children (and teachers!) back to school. Magical!
I have more photographs of the third group of children – but for some reason the files are exceeding the maximum upload limit – they are on display outside the classroom if you would like to come and see them! 😀
