Biodiversity Action Group

As part of our biodiversity action plan we planned to get bird feeding stations. To  keep them topped up is one of our class jobs is for pupils to take turns in filling up the bird feeders at lunch time.

To increase our knowledge of the wide range of plants, insects and animals that exist in our grounds we wanted to build a bug hotel and survey the number and types of insects we can attract to our grounds.  Rock UKworked with P5-7 to create a bug hotel using recycled materials. We are hoping that lots of insects chose to come in live at Hutton.

We are also hoping to develop a forest classroom so that we can closely watch local woodland. We hope to begin this soon.
