In Term 3 P1-4 pupils studied People Who Help Us  – we invited guest speakers in to class to talk about their jobs.  Lorna Vevers from Lockerbie Post Office talked to everyone about the role of the postal delivery person and how the mail gets sorted and delivered in our area.  Doctor Hill showed us the medical instruments in his doctor’s bag and we got to try some of them out.  Johnny and Chris from Nith Inshore Rescue showed us some photos of the lifeboat in action on the Solway coast.  We heard about rescues that were made and the equipment they carry with them.

P1-5 also visited the ARK Vets Surgery and Lockerbie Fire Station to find out about the jobs people do there.  We also got a tour of the Police Station from PC Brownrigg and a look around TESCO supermarket – we were looking at and tasting Fairtrade foods when we were there.
