HOLYWOOD PRIMARY LITTER PICKING GROUP!!!!!

At Holywood primary school we have a litter picking group with me Thomas and Leland  in it. Yesterday Thursday the 21st of may we made an action plan we are going to not waste our recourse and not litter the playground in rubbish and we are going to recycle used batteries. One day we were litter picking and when we were done we gave the bag to Miss Dale and she got Lewis to read how much it weighed he thought it said 70g but it weighed 750g which is quite a lot for a bag of rubbish. luckily a man in Canada had the same idea he is hoping to get 1,000 bottles or more he also has a litter buggy which carries a tent some water and food he has already travelled 5,000 miles or over. The litter picking group is hoping to pick up lots of litter as well we are hoping to get lots of people  trying to collect rubbish and not make the place worse.

Billionaire Boy

The book that I have been reading is called billionaire Boy by David Walliams, at the start of the book the main characters are Joe Spud and Mr Spud. They were billionaires they had anything that you could dream of. At the start of there were a checklist, everything was ticked. On the checklist there were everything that he wanted. A Grand Prix track in the back garden, got it. Waterside from bedroom window into an Olympic sized swimming, got it. But on the next page it had one more and it was friends and it had a cross beside it. That is because people thought that he had too much money. On his birthday he did not get any toys he only got a 1 million pound cheque so he got him self a F1 car for the Grand Prix track he had one before but he crashed it into a tree. (He was not hurt.) His dad had a toilet roll business but it went bust so he lost everything. At the end his new friend Bob and Bobs mum let Joe and his dad move in and Joe and Bobs mum liked each other so much that they married each other and Joe and Bob became brothers and a real family.

£124.46 Raised for Nepal Earthquake Appeal – WOW Holywood!!

Well done and thank you to everyone who donated toys or bid at the auction to take new toys home. You managed to raise a whopping £124.46 to help the people of Nepal.

The money was handed into Oxfam for the appeal – they were impressed and grateful for your fantastic and generous donation. We had a few toys left so we gave them in to Oxfam too and hope that when these sell even more money can be raised!

Thank you once again to a very generous school community – you are brilliant at thinking of others!!

Thank you to Elliot and Logan for the bag of soft toys which kicked the whole idea off – well done Keira for the auction idea and for writing out home – your idea was a great success!

My Mum is a Loser!

I read a book called My mum is a Loser by Jim Smith. I really enjoyed reading the book because it was humorous. It’s about a boy called Barry Loser. His best friend, Bunky is having tea with him. Before tea they watched a program called Future Ratboy. His mom turned of the to which made Barry very angry so he stormed upstairs! He exaggerated by saying ” I have been up here for billions off hours” . He gets really jealous because Bunky gets his main course, dessert and a can of fizzy juice. So he pretends to be dead and his mum finds him and he gets upset and keeps on saying I love you Mum, I love you!!!
