Holywood Hullabaloo

On Friday the 9th of February I was on a boat going to Belfast to see my aunty and uncle and cozens we went bowling and go carting my Dad uncle and Aaron my cozen went to Dublin to see the Ireland v France under 20s rugby Mach

When I went to Glasgow to box on Saturday I hade to wake up at half 6 in the morning to go to the boxing club then I got wade I was  under my weight so I could eat on the way then we got there after a long ride and I was really cold and I still had a big jacket on and plus it was raining   and then a boy fought and he won the fight then it was me after 10 20 mins then I got in the ring I was nerves then I got the win and I celebrated the I went to the other boys couch and sais well done and to the boy as well then I was waiting for the last fight because there was a boy from my club was the last fight and the there was a boy who hurt his ankle  in the second round so that was sore for him and he almost claps then it was Sunday and I don the same  then I was the 10th fight the it came to the time where it was me then I was wing al the rounds because the boy was just not punching or anything and I got the win and I went to get the gold meddle and went home

Today we where making a periscope and we got a template and a  bit of card. This was based on ww. we had to do a diarama and a timeline. We had to make a 3d periscope so we had 2 mirrors also. it was fun to make a periscope but it was easy. we could see  out of it. It was fun.

Today we are finishing off ww1and ww2 I have really enjoyed the topic but it is quite sad . we are doing a carousel today on fun tasks based on ww . we have to do a time line , make a game on 2diy make a diorama on d day findout different inventions and finish  off with making a periscope . I really enjoyed making periscopes because it showed you what it was like in a submarine during the war .

We are still doing the topic of WWII and made a periscope out of paper and glue and mirrors.

Now I can see every thing and can spy on things and I feel taller with my one too!

today we are finishing our ww1 and 2 idl project. today we have 5 tasks to do and the first one I started on was design your own working periscope. So the first thing I done was ask what’s a periscope then miss dale sent me to the computer and an found out what a periscope. I printed out a net and started folding it and added the mirrors at one end to the other and it was all going to plan until I made some modifies and cut off the top. Now we can see when Miss Stapleton is sneaking up on us in maths.

Today in class we discussed homework. Pupils completed a PMI chart on the subject of Homework. They put down the plus points, the minus points and asked and Interesting questions about homework.

Most pupils know that homework allows them to share learning with home, improves their skills and moves learning forward.

Most pupils felt that they spend a long time working in school.

We discussed the difference between homework at primary and secondary. Some pupils with older siblings told us that that homework gets done because of the consequences  – pupils with de-merits for not doing homework miss out on school trips!

Funnily enough, the pupils who complete homework thought this was a good idea. The pupils who do not complete homework did not like the idea.

Two of our pupils informed us that their older siblings don’t do the homework or cheat.

Is this really moving learning forward?

Plus Minus Interesting (P.M.I) of home work

P –  It gets you smart  It helps you.  You will be very intelligent.

 

M –  Its a waste of you time. Its not important. Parents shouldn’t punish you to do home work.

 

I –  Why do we do homework?   What s the Point of doing home work?   Why don’t we have a choice to do home work?

Home work is for school and if you have a club on you can’t do the homework.

Your parent could see your work and the teacher could see what you could do and it could move your learning forward and that means that you can get a better job.

But if you have clubs  that means that you can only do a wee bit of the home work.

If you do not do your Homework you would not get a very good Job .

Today we talked about homework and what we need to change with a pmi bored and we talked to each other about how it is different to high school and how it changes people and homework from some to a lot of homework. We learned about demerits and merits and punishments from not doing homework.  There is not a lot of people do homework at Holywood (in p5 to p7).

+But need to do are homework because it will help you get a job and a house
