SNOW !!
for the past few days it has been snowing ! on Sunday there was a huge pile of snow until five o clock it stopped . it was snowing last weak and me and Dakota have been having snow fights. today the there is some snow left but most of it is ice.
I love snow so so much I think that snow is great because there is so many things you can do with it ! some times we had to stay in because it was so cold outside. Dakota said she thinks snow is fun , Euan said that he loves snow so much! . there are people who don’t like snow and some people don’t like get hit by the snow balls. in the snow you can throw snow balls and build a snow man also you can build random things.

Ration challenge
On Monday p5 to 7 are doing there ration challenge. The ration challenge is when you prepare a meal what was rationed during the war. We are cooking sausage, bacon, pastry and egg all inside the pie. The cooking will begin this after noon and after every thing is prepared the teachers judge your choice of meal. We were meant to be doing it before the charismas but nobody was ready so lets hope every one is ready this time. There is a possibility we will do it today. Ryans group it making toad in the hole. Learning At Holywood
In Primary 5-7 we have been learning about WW2. We made model planes to represent the Messerschmitt (German fighter plane) and the Spitfire. We also made backgrounds for them by getting some A3 paper and using oil pastels to recreate the view of the ground from the planes and we have hung the planes above the oil pastel drawings. We are also hopefully going to be doing the ration challenge. My group will be making toad in the hole.
We have started a new thing that we do on Monday mornings. It is called a reading and writing carousel (I think). There are 4 groups; Blogging, Reading, Newspapers and reading box card. On the reading box card you have to complete the whole card in 15 minutes and it is the same with everything else. On the newspaper you have to read the newspaper and then write 5 questions for someone. On blogging you blog and on reading there are 4 books called Blitz, The boy in the striped pyjamas, The last kids on earth and Adolphus Tips. I am reading the boy in the striped pyjamas and I am on page 101.
On big Thursday last week we went up the woods with Miss Stapleton and took pictures, then we came back and wrote poems about the woods and what we could touch, hear and smell. We then got hot chocolate and marshmallows! With Mr Walker we did cricket in P.E. With Mrs McIntyre we did pop art in art and with Ann we did music. Ann is our new music teacher and she is very good.

Learning in the New Year of 2018 at Holywood
In the new year we were learning about WWII. We could make a choice on what subject of the war
that lasted 6 years. I did Defending Scotland so I could also do a bit about home guard.
We were learning about pop-art in the art lessons on big Thursday. And taken into the woods by
Mrs Stapltone to take pictures and see what we could hear and record it on paper. Then we used them to write a poem on lined paper and were given a marshmallow if the poem was good enough and after the woods we got a hot chocolate to warm up.
PE

learning at Holywood
At Holywood today we are going to do the rationing challenge and its all about cooking skills and for the later things in life. we are in gropes of 4 and we have to pick one of the recipes from ww2 and cook it. my group is making toed in the hole and it looks nice we have to make it by ingredients witch is hard because we have to make pastery. You have to keep fiddling with it so you get the right shape and then you put it in the ovens and then it will cook good but you have to put butter on the pan so the pastery doesn’t stick to the pan.
learning
Today we are meant to be doing the rationing challenge but not many people brought there stuff so it is likely we will not be doing it this year. This is how the challenge works:
- Everyone gets put in groups of four ( I got put with Jack, Ethan and Georgia )
- Then we pick a recipe form ww2
- Get the stuff ready
- Then we get 1 hour to make it
- Last we enjoy
The skill we use are
- cooking
- team work
