Holywood Hullabaloo

This week there has been teachers from different schools coming to Holywood and our teachers have been going to other schools such as Lincluden, North west community campus and Shawhead. P5-7 have had a science lesson with two teachers from two different schools, the science lesson was about a dessert island dilemma. What we had to do was to get contaminated water and try and filter the water with products such as sand, cotton wool , gravel and a sock, then test each of the products separately in four different beakers to see which one cleared more. Once we finished we would get tested from the teachers to make sure it is fair ( fair means that everything has to be done the same with an average volume in each beaker ) . If we have finished all of this we were aloud to multi-layer the products together to see if the water would filter easier.

 

Sevi has been working on making posters on the computer! He can change the writing’s colour, size and font!

Birds have feathers, wings, lay eggs and are warm blooded.

Scientists believe that birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs.

Birds have hollow bones which help them fly.

So what we have been up to is, we choose a country that has a different climate zone from ours. Say you have a very hot climate zone or country we had to pick a very cold country, so I picked Russia! so first I had to find out information like everyone else. and the class had to put the information on a sheet. We had to find information about Scotland as well so we could compare Scotland’s climate zone to the country we picked climate zone. And then we had to use the information that we had on the sheet, and make a diorama out of it. and that is how I got here! and I love it.

I have made glasses out of knex. They are for scuba diving. The bit on my nose stops the water from going up my nose.

 

 

On big Thursday I have been learning how to be doing the headstand on the wall. I am good at balance. I can now do the headstand on the floor.

P1-3 made these water cycle animations this week in computer science. They used all the skills we have been working on in this block – drawing, selecting and moving objects, and adding text.

 

My mum  and myself are going to Spain for five days.

I like  warm weather there.

We  are going to get a plane on Friday.
