15 minute quick writing and the Twits book review

15 minute quick writing.

Random animal facts I know!
Giraffes fight with their necks.
Proboscis monkeys scare their predators and other proboscis monkeys by making a kerhonk noise.
Golden stuffed nosed monkeys have blue faces but they are not cold that is just their colour
Some jaguars are black.
Dolphins have their own language that is clicks and whistles
Owls do things called pellets that have the bones of the thing they ate.

My review of The Twits

Author : Roald Dahl
Favourite Character: Muggle-Wump
Why? because hes a monkey
Favourite Part? where the twits are calling each other mean things because its funny.
Did you like how it ended? yes because they shrunk and then all you saw was there clothes
Overall thoughts : i liked the fact that some of the characters from the enormous crocodile are in it.

Mrs. Madden’s easy-peasy Lemon Jelly Cheesecake!

Ingredients

  • 250g (9oz) digestive biscuits
  • 125g (4oz) butter
  • 135g packet of lemon jelly
  • 1 tablespoon of clear honey
  • 300ml of double cream
  • 200g (7oz) cream cheese (I use Philadelphia)

Method

  1. Put the biscuits into a clean plastic bag.  Seal the bag with an elastic band.  Roll a rolling pin over the biscuits to crush them (or put the biscuits in a mixing bowl and crush them with your clean hands – that’s what I do).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat.  Pour the biscuit crumbs from the bag or bowl and mix them with the butter.
  3. Grease the inside of a circular cake tin, with a push out base, with some butter.  Spread the crumbs over the bottom.  Press them to make a firm base.
  4. Put the base into a fridge to chill.  Break the jelly into cubes.  Put them into a measuring jug.
  5. Warm a tablespoon under the hot tap and add one tablespoon of honey to the jelly cubes.
  6. Pour 300ml (1/2 pint) of boiling water into the jug.  Stir the mixture well, until the jelly dissolves.
  7. Meanwhile, put the cream cheese and cream into a large bowl.  Use a spoon to beat the mixture until it is smooth.
  8. Add the jelly mixture to the bowl and beat it hard with a whisk to mix it well.  If you use an electric whisk, put a tea towel around the bowl and whisk to prevent it ending up all over the kitchen.
  9. Pour the creamy mixture into the cake tin.  Put it carefully into the fridge and leave it for about four hours to set.
  10. When the cheesecake is firm, lift it onto a can.  Carefully press down on the sides of the cake tin to loosen the base.
  11. You can leave the cheesecake on the tin’s base or you can transfer it, carefully, onto a plate using a spatula to loosen the cake from the base.  Put the cheesecake into a fridge until you are ready to eat it.

Sunday

Hello. Today I’ve been chill axed. What have you been up to? Today I woke up really late. Then I did  nothing for about two hours and then me and my dad went on a walk. We did 5k (5 kilometres). We saw lots of horses which was nice. They were so cute. A few hours later we went on a cycle. We did 3.9k (3.9 kilometres). Before that we had chicken wrapped with bacon. It was really yummy. Finally I will do my Spanish. That’s my day for you bye. Stay home stay safe! By Orla

Saturday

Hi people out there reading my blog, how are you? Today I’ve completely chilled. To start off the day I woke up late. Then I did some arts and crafts. I’ve decorated  one of the glass bottles but starting the other. Next I went outside for a wee while but then I got too hot so I went inside. After that I organised some things so I knew what they were. I did that for most of the day. That raps  up today’s blog bye. By Orla. Stay safe stay home.

Ferocious Friday

Caspian is back! Today I have been doing some scene setting; I chose a certain place which I know very well and described what I can see, hear, smell, taste and feel when I think about this place. Then I wrote a short story incorporating some of my thoughts.

Today. Was. The. Weirdest. Day. EVER! I started my day off as usual, going to the arcade, eating hotdogs and all that stuff. Until an old wizard told me about the heekshaw.  He told me to get it out of an arcade machine and bring it to him, but just then an arcade machine buzzed and blew up! It knocked over an ice cream cart. The heekshaw looked like a demon. It ran towards the holiday park; I followed it there. When I got there, I had a plan. I got a spell from the wizard, drank it, and grew muscles. I picked up a holiday home and chucked it at the heekshaw, then picked up the heekshaw and doused its flames in the swimming pool.

I learnt some stuff about the war years, watched a wartime commercial, learnt about animal groups, watched a documentary on rattle snakes, and completed my daily maths.

Have a great weekend

Friday

Hi guys. What have you been up to? I’m chilling outside and working. Today I’ve hardly done anything. First I did my Spanish. Again I use the app Duolingo. Then I did some reading. I am reading machine gunners. Next it was Maths. I was doing decimals. I did that outside. Later I will quickly do my comprehension. I was going to do that earlier, but I wanted to do arts and crafts so I did that for a wee while. That is my day for you guys bye. By Orla. Take care.
