A Busy Week

First  this week I let go my  butterflies. It took a long time for some of them to take off. One of the butterflies was very hairy on its back I did not expect that.

I made a zip wire in the kitchen I did not use string. I used nylon thread I didn’t think it would work but it did. It worked because the thread was strong and slippery. When we pulled it tight it went down much faster. I put  my teddy on the zip wire then I put down my playmobile. The playmobile went down quicker because they were lighter.

Yesterday I had an online appointment. It was kinda weird. I had to see the receptionist on the screen. I did not expect it. Then I had to go into the virtual waiting room. The screen said you will be collected soon. It sounded strange to me. I think this a good thing because after the virus there wont be a tonne of people waiting for a new appointment. I have to do it all again next week !!!!!!!

Mrs. Madden’s Big Choose Craft

Single Line Portrait Drawing

For this activity all you need is a sheet of A4 paper, a mirror (if you are drawing yourself) and a pencil or pen.

To do this activity properly, you are not allowed to lift your pencil off the paper once you have started.  However, you are allowed to draw over the top of lines you have already drawn – it is quite tricky!   I drew myself in the mirror and I drew my husband.

I challenge all the staff and pupils to do this.  Top tip:  start down the middle of your face (I started with my eyebrow).

BOOK BLETHER

Morning Book Worms!

Today we are going to use one of the BIG READ TASKS to get us started with our book chat:

FICTIONAL FRIENDS

Which character would you want as a friend? Why? What would you do or talk about together?

The character can either be from the book you are reading just now or any book you have read in the past.

Look forward to chatting!

A poem about my dog Beans

Here is my poem I wrote with similes

My Dog Beans

She’s as playful as a tiger cub.

Beans is as beautiful as blossom.

 As clever as a dolphin.

She is as grumpy as a bear if you lose her ball.

 As cuddly as a duckling.

She’s like a fish when she swims.

As ready to pump as is a cowboy addicted to baked beans.

Greek Gods

Hi all, Caspian is back from a mythological experience. Today I have done a lot of research into Greek mythology. I have found out about Arachne for whom spiders are named.  I also read about Cupid. I read some of this when I read The Oddyssey last year.

I also did some work on my How We Used to Live lessons. Today I focussed on evacuees. It made feel incredibly sad, how awful it must have been for the little children.

See you tomorrow.
