My work

Hey everyone – Cleo checking in with some of my work.

This is my Van Gogh inspired painting from the end of last week using the airbrush programme

I’ve nearly finished House with the Chicken Legs. Mummy has set me the challenge of finishing before the end of the week so I can do a review. I have been doing work from my spelling list and also did the dictionary words – here are my sentences for those.

Indiana Jones is an intrepid adventurer that travels all over the world looking for historical artifacts.
Captain Marvel is courageous because she fights for people to protect them.
Climbing Mount Everest is arduous journey because the conditions are harsh.
School work can be a gruelling task.
Going for a walk in the Amazon Rainforest can be an adventurous escapade.
I love clothes and jewellery that are unique.
The house was in the jeopardy because it was so old and at risk of falling down.

For maths I’ve been sticking with my 5-a-day and doing a mix of medium and spicy. I’ve also been doing Sumdog and I’m going to try hard to help us do well in the challenge this week.

This week we’ve also taken a look at plants. We went into the garden and looked at flowering and non-flowering plants. We then discussed the differences. Then we looked at parts of a plant and I came in and drew a diagram through paint. Here it is.

I’ve also been very interested in myths and legends recently, especially legendary or mythical creatures. I’ve been watching some documentaries on them. Today’s has been about the Lochness monster.
Anyway time to go for just now.
Hope everyone is safe.
Cleo.

Loopy the Ladybird

Today I started with maths, I did better than yesterday, getting used to (X) and today I was picking it up a little bit better.
The fun part today was making my ladybird book!

Adios.

Some of my work

Hi there everyone. Rory here.
Just giving an update.
I’ve been working hard on my maths as usual. I’ve been doing Sumdog, but also practising things I have learned in the last few weeks like my big number addition. I also started the first part of halving numbers yesterday. Some of these were bigger numbers than I had halved before so I learned how to divide by 2.

I did some reading on Epic yesterday before starting a new book. I think I am going to be reading a Horrible Histories book about Vikings. I have done the first word cookie and made sentences with the words I found. Mummy found it funny that I could spot the word eight myself but needed some help spotting the word it. Here are my sentences :
I hit the ball over Cleo’s head.
Toilet paper is white.
There was eight people in the shop buying food.
My Daddy needed to get milk from the shop.
I have never worn a tie.
It was really dark at night.
It is hard when playing tig and you are the tagger.
Twigs are really skinny bits of stick from a tree.
I said hi to one of my friends.
The sun was bright up in the sky.
I played a game with my friends.

I also did a 15 minute quick writing this morning about a genie giving me 3 wishes.
I met a genie and he gave me 3 wishes. I wished for a car that I could drive because I don’t want to wait until I’m eighteen. Another one of my wishes would be to get every single video game I have ever wanted. This is because I love video games and they are one of my favourite things ever. My last wish would be for the coronavirus to be gone and quarantine to be over because I miss all my friends.

Going to do a bit more Epic reading right now and then it will be time for more maths. This afternoon we are going to label parts of plants and find out about flowering and non-flowering plants.

Hope everyone has a good day. Bye for now
Rory.

Sumdog Regional Challenge

Morning everyone.

I’ve been looking at the leaderboard for the Sumdog regional contest and the senior maths class isn’t even in the top 73 yet… because we’ve only had 9 pupils play, and we need 10 or more for our class to count.

Can we get anyone else playing Sumdog this week and trying to get us up this leaderboard? (Or on it to start off with!) Remember – our class’ score is the average of your correct scores, you can’t just click and guess your way through.

Can we make it on the leaderboard by Friday?

Miss S

My dinner

Tonight we had rice crispy chicken. It is rice crispy’s bashed and Italian herbs and then put on the chicken. For the rice crispy’s and the herbs to stick to the chicken we used egg. My sister Charlotte made our tea. It’s one of my favourite meals. I had most of the chicken. Hope you enjoyed my blog bye! By Orla.

Raven Rescue

Earlier today Rhona and me were rescuing a young raven (or rook) with wonky feet from under a hedge. The fact that we could catch it means it clearly was not in good nick. It could not take off either. Selkie saw the thing when me and Rhona were taking her for a walk. Rhona pointed it out and went home with the dog while I climbed into the hedge and began looking at it, then Rhona returned and we caught it together. It is now at a wildlife hospital.

We fed it cheese and strawberries to keep it’s strength up.

Today’s Work

Hi everyone, I have worked on my Sumdog weekly challenge, worked on literacy today with words that sound the same but are spelt and mean something different – son & sun.  I started playing Karate Cats to help with spelling and sentences I’m on level 7 now – it’s fun I’ve put some pictures of it here too.  I listened to a story called Nelly the Monster Sitter and done a few sentences about it.  I also done some colouring in today.

Today’s Work

Today I worked on Sumdog for the regional challenge, started work on my literacy project – done a drawing of his pack and started his Passport and completed day 22 of my Lego challenge.  Bye have a nice day, Rhys.
