Holywood Hullabaloo

Today we went to devils porridge. Freddie and I were in the  same group. There was two groups one group went down stairs to the WW1 stuff. The other group went to see a movie about WW1 Freddie and I where looking at WW1 stuff. Yeah it was really fun. Then we went to the air raid shelter. After we went to the train. We got to go to the gift shop. The bus was really fun. Me Jackson and Ramani played the car game. Jackson won. I was second.

Hellooo! Rhona and Ramani here! C: Today we went to the devils porridge and it was MWA (chefs kiss) and we all just kinda walked around looking at stuff and it was all about world wars and facts and taught us a lot! So FIRST of allll, (this bit may be a wee bit boring but i cannae go out to play until this is done OK!)

We went to the devils porridge museum to learn about the world wars.

We got split into 3 groups so we could cover the museum and not trip over each others coats and everything but ANYWAYS.

I was in group 3 with Ramani and we got to try on clothes and do games on touch screen thingies.

We went outside and saw the air raid shelter and the train guy who was a train. That makes a lot of sence.

We also watched a short wee film on world war facts.

We went to the gift shop and there was a bunch of war stuff and souvenirs but i literally found a bit of honey and I bought that. Heh.

We ate lunch of which i got a bacon sandwich (I know, your jealous)

 

Also on the bus we listened to Whitney Huston (yass) and sang and irritated the bus driver.

Then we went back on the bus and came back to school and can i just say that the bus driver managed to steer a giant bus full of a bunch of annoying wee kids BACKWARDS from the end of the road of potholes and stuff and everything which takes SKILL.

The devils porridge was REALLY fun and i recommend going.

OKK!! DONE IM GOING OUT TO PLAY!

We tried on some stuff from the museum (Jackets,Clothes,Hats,Gas masks…) . There were gift cards and stamps you could keep the card you got, ( one card that was smelly and i liked it some people didn’t tho..)
Then we watched a film about WW2 and peoples lives,
Then we did learned about what the children did when they had to evacuate.
They had to go without their Ma And Pa (They felt sad tho.)
Some kids were lucky enough to get their Ma with them tho.
We also found a nuclear launch pad replica (It was pretty cool ngl)
We also got to smell WW2 soap (It smelt so good…)
The trenches were Daniels favourite bit.
I also poked my hand into this hole a lot and found a rat (It was fake tho lol.)

Hello, Payton and Ori are doing a blog together today. and do you know what it is…

We went to the Devil’s Porridge in Eastriggs today. We learned  all about the first and second world war. We saw evacuees outfits and possessions, gas masks, air raid wardens and home rationings.

In the downstairs, we learned about the big ammunitions factory and how it affected the workers health. We also saw what the nurses uniforms would look like and what their living conditions were. We saw and learned about the trenches as well. My favourite part was learning about the nurses. Payton’s favourite was trying the gas masks on and the train that was outside. We also saw an Anderson’s air raid shelter.

Today the P6/7 class went on a trip to the Devils Porridge Museum. My favourite part was the touch screens. They were all about making the bomb mixture? and About people during the 2 world war. The whole class was split into two groups. One group watched short films about the war. Meanwhile the others Explored the museum.  We also got scratch and sniff cards they smelt DISGUSTING. We also got to see an Anderson shelter. Everybody squeezed in to fit so we could take a photo. We went to the gift shop after. I got a notebook.

we could only use limited ingredients: potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes, 3 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, a chunk of butter and a bit more

hello its Ramani here we were doing a ration challenge it is where you cook a dish for four people but you have to use ingredients from world war two. we had a group  of four or two or three so i got a group of four i was with Rhona Freddie jackson  we made potato and bacon soup with a side of trout and potatoes   it was very nice.

Whats goodddd Rhonas back C: and i have some pretty EXCITING news!! So, basically we did this ration challenge thingy where we have to use ww1 rations to make a meal and you know what :>> I honestly think my team won! :DDD When we were choosing teams I wassss gonna go with Ori, Lottie and Payton but then I was like what the heckk so i went with Ramani Jackson and Freddie… heh. SO anyways, after I went with them everyone was saying about our team that we would lose and everythinggg and we wouldnt make anything niceee BUT then Ramani gave us his dads recipe for soup and then Freddie gave us a fish! (Trout). Fast forward after a bunch of stress and Gordon Ramsay-ing, we had finally made our dish, Miss Dale and Mrs Gray LOVED it, said Freddies fish was cooked perfectly and MWA. I am very very proud of our group and honestly dont mean to brag, (yes i do) but i honestly think we won! :DDD

UPDATE!!! WE WOOOOONNN! :DDDDD WE GOT 4 WOODEN SPOONS AND NOW WE CAN STIR STUFF AHHHH YESSSS! :DDDD

for the ration challenge I made lentil soup with Noah we used lentil carrot onion salt  butter and bacon. I didn’t like it that much but Noah did and who ever wins it gets a wooden spoon that says holywood ration challenge 2023. 

hi its Jackson here and we done the ration challenge i was in a group with Ramani, Rhona and Freddie  we made fresh trout and potato and bacon  soup I didn’t really like the soup but the trout was good
