What is Africa like.
Africa as you expect is hot ( and I mean hot, its so hot that your skin peels off)in Africa there is hardly any green.
What is a good idea in Africa? Straw roof keeps your house cool, wear a white T -shirt and a white shorts…
Also on the hills in Africa I saw fire on the hills.

ALL ABOUT MY HOLIDAY
I went to Chester for my holidays. On the first day I went on a heritage bus tour it was fantastic. The next day we went to Chester zoo. Did you know that there are 11,000 animals in the zoo? My favourite animals were the Jaguars and the Meerkats. The next day we went to Gullivers world which is a theme park there are over 60 rides .The next day I was going back home to see my Nana and Papa first. I also went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach my favourite ride was the Avalanche. It is like toboggan on wheels .It goes so so fast I thought I was going to fall out of it.

A reminder to pupils attending the swimming lessons – you know who you are!
Swimming lessons start on Monday, the first day of term!!!
Week in the Woods – June 2013
It was great to get a really dry, sunny start to the week and parents were very surprised when we turned up almost clean at the end of the first day!
We had planned den building and camp fire cooking skills – building on the skills learned last session but we also wanted pupils to transfer skills from the classroom into the woods so we planned maths, art and drama activities too.
We used different tools to cause vibrations to coax worms out of the ground – Scott’s group won with a worm 20cm in length.
Tuesday was all about trees and pupils had to calculate the area of leaves with the seniors also working out the average area of leaves on a tree. We took rubbings and observation drawings of the leaves both in the playground and in the woodland.
In the afternoon we went to the outdoor classroom in the woodland and pupils created faces on the trees using mud and found objects from the woods. Some pupils chose to create scary monster faces. Working with mud was great fun!
Wednesday was all about mini beasts and pupils went on a bug hunt, classified bugs and observed and drew mini beasts. Staff were impressed at the confidence of pupils – no one was nervous about studying mini beasts.
Week In The Woods
Dens:
We went up the woods to collect some sticks. We used the sticks to make dens in the playground. We got to make our own groups and we stuck with the groups we had for the rest of the Week.
Trees and Leaves:
We learned in how to measure trees by looking underneath our legs. To figure out the Age you hug it.
Mini Beasts:
We looked at lot of different mini beast like:
Spider
Ground Beetles
Slugs and lots more
Camp fires:
On Thursday we had a topic about campfires. We made a chocolate banana, Toasted marshmallows and made fish. We ate EVERYTHING. My opinion was that it is awesome.
Thank you, for every one who took part even parents.

Tuesday arrived and trees is our topic for today so we went round the playground trying to identify all the trees in the playground by looking at the leaves on them and matching to an identification sheet with different leaves on it. A fter break we went up the woods and found out there was a lot of beech trees.
